*** Nintendo Switch ***

Hit stun is intentional.

I can't believe anyone is willing to pay so much for street fighter when it's such a minor update to hd remix, which is so cheap in comparison.

Personally I am getting Mario Kart then Mario, nothing else really of interest as between the Switch and things on the PS4 like Persona 5, Neir Automata, I am not going to buy games just to pad out my library.

Don't mind it, as there are plenty to play on all platforms.

For me the switch is a handheld first and and therefore I welcome these ports to play on the move, especially if I haven't played them on another platform (aka WiiU and MK8).

Anyone excited for the Switch version of Ultra Streetfigher 2 ?

I'd like to play it again for the nostalgia factor and the updated graphics look nice. Also, online play would be awesome if they can get it working right.

Like most others I'm kind of irked by the price though. It's £35 on most sites just now but I'm hoping it'll drop by £5-10 before release otherwise I'll probably cancel the order. To me it feels pretty odd they bothered to put this out on a physical release when it would surely be far more suited as a £20 digital only title?

I am, although I wouldn't be nearly as excited if it was digital only. I want to build a physical library of games, and Street Fighter is a welcome addition.

I love Street Fighter, but I'm not buying another version of 2. Done that enough over the years and I don't think the Switch controllers, any of them, are best suited for it having moved to a fight pad for SFV.

The Switch is crying out for a cannon fodder remake :p

Hey i would also take a timesplitters remake
Surely cheaper to do on the switch than the xbox one/ps4

Out of curiosity how does MK8 compare to MK wii? Just had a 4 player co-op on the latter and found it very fun but also kinda frustrating... I was truly terrible of course but it felt very harsh in the sense that if you're anywhere near 'the pack' one hit from an unavoidable CPU attack can very easily create a cascade of events with you being well and truly owned and put you right at the back. Some of the weapons seemed really overpowered... played the n64 version a lot today too and I still love that to bits. Very simple, very fair, very fun.

Think of it this way, your pre-order is precisely the reason they won't drop the price. People are placing orders at that price, they make more money, they can always drop the price later anyway. Currently they have a captive audience, they brought in people with Zelda and now have a few million Switch owners who are desperate for games. How many will pay £10-20 more for a game just so they actually have another game on the Switch.

The whole thing is nuts though, they have bagloads of cash after the Wii, they planned Switch for supposedly a few years, yet they don't just hire more people, get more teams going and make games ready for it. How can you plan for so long, have so much cash and fail to make almost any unique games. Zelda was always a Wii title as well. There seems to be a fair number of people selling their Switch's already after finishing Zelda. A lot of people who bought it for Zelda and are thinking with nothing else new and worthwhile why keep it. Whole thing seems painfully mismanaged.

A new Nintendo console and they didn't even bother making a 'new' Mario kart? Other than Zelda the switch line up is so under whelming. Just a bunch of rehashed Wii u games.

I 100% expect Nintendo to make a completely new Mario Kart game on Switch. Though this does put a damper on that idea. Every single Nintendo consoles since Mario Kart on the SNES has had a brand new Mario Kart made for it. So they can't leave out the Switch. I'd be highly disappointed if they did, which might suggest they don't think it's worth making when they have a re-release Mario Kart. Then again, a new Mario Kart down the line could be part of the reason why they are desperate to get this one out of the door, get the sales out of the way now and then release a proper one a few years on.

Exactly why many of us (especially those who already have a WiiU) don't yet have a Switch. And Nintendo's eagerness to keep the 3DS around (as a backup) appears to speak volumes for their confidence in Switch. Perhaps they don't feel that Switch will live up to the sales and popularity of the 3DS and that's why they're still making 3DS games?

All I know is, I'd rather have a Switch, especially since the circle pad on my 3DS XL has broken off (will be a while for the replacement part to be shipped and can't play most games that depend on it till then). Maybe it's a sign... that I should get a Switch lol. Except there's no Pokemon/Monster Hunter/Fire Emblem on Switch yet. And the stories I found of people similarly breaking their circle pads playing Smash 3DS, Pokemon was what killed my circle pad (no D-pad movement controls and the breeding in the new game).

The install base for the 3DS is so big it be silly to kill it off right now, makes business sense when the Switch isn't a 3DS replacement.

The Switch is getting off to a better start than the 3DS did on its first release.

This.

Whilst I agree they should be more Switch focused than 3DS focused...they would have a HUGE user base that would be extremely annoyed if they just dropped the 3DS all of sudden. Wind it down to a gradual transition over? sure why not. Takes years though!

Two random bits of trivia. Yesterday I played BOTW for almost 90mins on the Switch. Secondly, on Wednesday I go on vacation for 10 days, so you'll have to find your own Switch news and squabble amongst yourselves during that time as my time online will be a bit limited :p

I still don't see the Switch as a 3DS replacement though, yes it's also portable but I think the 3DS still has a place

Same. But if they phase it out over time it wouldn't surprise me.

Have the Switch & a Switch Mini? Mini could be the new 3DS. Or keep the Switch and make a bigger version so the current Switch becomes the new 3DS.

They keep popping up at random. A lot seem to be having luck with local supermarkets and the like. Or you can order on Amazon and just wait for it to come in and be dispatched. If you're not in a rush for it.

We had four of us play the Wii U version (MK8) the other week. I was the only one who was good even at the end of the night. It takes a bit of time, and effort to make sure you can drift. If you can't drift corners, well give up. Though I believe their putting in an easy driving mode on the new version.

I never found it difficult, but frustrating. But meh, thats Mario Kart. I remember the N64 version being the same. The weapons are pretty balanced if you know how to use them. Staying in first the whole way isn't always how you win etc. Using weapons immediately is also not going to help. The more you learn about the game, the easier it is. As per most games really. But it is well balanced.

Not entirely. But you get used to what is said around you. I normally say "vacations" or "holidays" now. The Portuguese don't have a singular version for the word "holiday" and they watch a lot of American movies. So they normally translate to vacation but with plural!

Cultural differences yo :p

I know how you feel. Not living in Scotland for many years, I get it from both sides!

Your accent is too strong, you're losing your accent. :p
