*** Nintendo Switch ***

Guess I am just a gaming snob, but this sort of thing always makes me cringe. smartphones games are for the most part not 'portable gaming' but just timewasters in situations you are so bored you figure you may as well play some piece of garbage. As a gamer I feel unreasonably disgusted when someone references smartphones and 'gaming', I feel the urge to roll up a newspaper and tap someone on the head saying 'no!' like I would a dog that pee'd indoors

Go back to my post and you will see that I don't actually reference 'gaming on a smartphone'. People, such as myself, are very happy to browse the internet frustration free on our smartphones. I'm even posting on OCUK out and about now, wooo! 4G and nice big screens make this a relative treat compared to the days of old :)

I CBA to have a portable console for the once in a blue moon opportunity when I'm on a train or in a hotel by myself, noting that I can be easily entertained by my smartphone. When travelling with company it can be pretty antisocial to whip out a game... unless it's 'long haul' or you hate speaking to each other. It's pretty anti-social to be on your phone all the time too, but that tends to be 'less absorbing' than playing a game.

Oh another Bomberman update tomorrow. 'We will deliver the "Super Bomberman R" update (Ver.1.3) past 10 o'clock on Friday the 21st. Improve operability, adjust difficulty level, add new stage, etc. Details will be announced on the official page of the day'

I was going to sell this pile of junk but will hold out for now and hopefully I can get some enjoyment out of it.

Mario Kart is getting a top Metacritic score straight out of the gate.

It's a great game, just an old one.

I'm really enjoying the Shovel Knight - Plague of Shadows campaign now I have the mobility down.

It took a little bit to get into but now I'm way more hooked than I was with the original campaign.

So what is the view of the mighty OCUK.

Should I buy one of these to play some of the latest flavours of Nintendo's epic games?

Help me OCbiwanUK, you are my only hope.

It is better than the main campaign, I agree. £22.50 doesn't feel like great value but it is fun (albeit limited in depth).

so...... never played minecraft, should i get it for the switch? or is it for children only?
Not just for children but you do have to be the right type of person who can make their own fun in the sandbox it provides. I'll be picking a copy up to complete my collection of owning it on pretty much every platform its been released on, because I'm stupid.

I used to play the OCUK MarioKart8 tournaments a while back which were great but didn't really take off as not many peeps had Wii U,s maybe the popularity of the Switch will bring that back ? Hope so :)
I've put hundreds of hours into the online mode, bought all the dlc and lots of amiibo for the extra unlockable bits and I'm not one bit disappointed of having to pay for the new deluxe edition on Switch as it looks super polished
Currently 94 on Metacritic :)

Took me a while to get the jump right but when it clicks it's pretty cool. I haven't got that far into it but the story overlap is really well done. Switch says I've put over 15 hours into this and I am nowhere near completing it. For this and the future campaigns I think it's really good value. I was unsure of the price initially but I am happy with what I have now.

Trying to find one now, not going into an Argos though, not had my injections.

I can get the blue/red one for Saturday via Amazon...but I don't want that one as I am not 12 :(

Loving those MK8D reviews, i've got it on pre order for £50 direct at Nintendo because I get a mug with it :p

Seems a bit steep but if it's that good, i'm happy with the price.
