*** Nintendo Switch ***

I think I'm gonna get the limited edition pokemon switch after x-mas guys, does anyone know if this is actually limited or will they still be around then?

Many great games are currently on discount and we will be getting a Resident Evil 4 port (plus some other older RE games) next year.

7 Billion Humans is also now out so I'll be completing that this weekend.

I just bought RE4 for the PS4! Good news though on the other stuff coming.

I looked through the sale yeah some decent discounts there. Nothing much on my wish list though. I've been pretty strict this month only spent £4.41 so far!

I broke my rule and bought my first full price game this year. I loved Human Resource Machine so I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into 7 Billion Humans if I can stay away from Nier Automata for long enough.

I remember you talking about HRM when you got it. I've looked into both of them. I don't know, I am intrigued but all the talk of programming scares me a little. I read about the sequel just this week and the Wikipedia description left me knowing less about it than before I read it!

Gave in and bought Dark Souls. I hate that I'm supporting Bamco's ****** practises but DS on the go (Read: while taking a ****) is just too tempting.
I am loving my time with it. I've put over 20 hours into it just this week. I held off on the recent remasters on the other consoles and I've never played on PC so this is actually the best version I've played. The sound in handheld is not great but with headphones it's passable. Through the TV it's fine. It's Dark Souls on the go and it's amazing.

How many hours it the Dark Souls campaign on average?

including the eleventymillion deaths and controllers being thrown at the wall?

It's hard to know because there are so many different ways to go. Progress is slow when you don't know which path to take. What I have noticed is that early on the NPC characters actually do give you obvious direction, so listen carefully. You won't finish it in less than 100 hours first play through, that's for sure.

From my own experience - There is a gift you are offered to take at the start. I was advised by my son to take the master key as my gift, because it unlocks more doors for you early on. This led to a ton of confusion for me and also frustration because I was in places I should not have been. This time I didn't take the key and those places are blocked off and progress is much less confusing.

It does use algorithms from programming (e.g. Something like level 5 or 6 can be solved by manually inputting the directions to navigate a maze but for a good score you need to use a maze navigation algorithm) but you don't need to know any programming syntax. If you like logic puzzles then it's a superb game, and it also teaches you the basics of programming concepts such as variables, loops, jumps and branches.

This already seems more advanced than the first game where i think creating a sorting algorithm is as complex as it got so if you're interested definitely get HRM first.

It's a hard one to recommend though as you generally know if you will like it or not. Did you play and enjoy the puzzle mode of chuchu rocket? If so you should like these two games.

100hrs + seems like a good investment to me. Just need to decide where. PC with GeForce Now or on the Switch! The payment for Smash Bros was taken this week.

God dammit. Might have to shelve it until early 2019.

Bought DS Remastered on release day. So far it's really good. One criticism is the not so polished layout in comparison to DS2 and DS3. It is very confusing and I got lost more than once! Overall though, very challenging game that after 15 hours is starting to become a bit more enjoyable (i.e. I stopped dying every 2 seconds :p) and really rewarding in terms of mechanics (i.e. learning how to parry properly).

I still can't parry properly and I've already hit 30 hours on it. I just go for max damage before I roll away or shield up. Once you open everything up the layout will blow you away. It's much better than 2 and 3. Where are you up to?

Just finished the depths and ventured towards blightown. Killed a few of the starting enemies before realising I had 50k souls, so trying to run back to firelink and Andre to spend a few before carrying on!

Nice one. Still quite early on. Yeah 50k souls is worth spending! I had some issues with Blighttown but managed to get through it. It is a really cool area and quite difficult at times with all the creaky walkways (thank god they fixed the low fps issues this area always had). I had many, many comedy deaths there.

This is pretty much my DS experience in a nutshell (love this gif).
