Other than that, Patapon is good and will tide me over until Ratatan and Cosmic invasion looks fun as well. Nintendo direct, but Patapon and Cosmic Invasion are coming to Steam as well, so I'll get them there instead.

I skipped the Switch entirely and intend to get the Switch 2 at release, so I’ve a fair amount of catching up to do!

Really hoping the backwards compatibility improves the performance as I’m so used to high fps with my Pro now that anything less than 40 is quite jarring.

Yes. I finished the remaster last year as well, so I have finished the first one a few times! I know Metroid isn't heavily action based, Dread was maybe a move in that direction, but a trailer like that isn't going to attract new players.

I think Metroid is the sort of game thats quite hard to blow peoples minds on. The first one on the Gamecube was just absolutely sublime so everything I see is compared to that. The proof will be in the play. As long as it doesn't look crap it will be a day one for me. Honestly, can't wait for the Switch 2. Will probably sell my OG Switch or give it to someone and get the Switch 2 on release along with (hopefully) Mario Kart 9, MP4 and the next mainline Mario 3D game.

Yeah the graphics look very weak, not sure if it was just the video quality but it looks like something from 15 years ago.

Agreed. Didn't look any better than Metroid Prime Remastered. Wonder if there will be a graphics uplift on the Switch 2 ? Or just a case of higher frame rate ?
