No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

I had a bit of a windfall last night.

Found a building with 50+ whispering eggs around it. Harvested them all.

Walked around a bit and found another identical building with another 50+ eggs!

I only had the starter ship + tool, so inventory space was an issue, but I wasn't going to leave it as I doubt I would find it again.

Chucked everything away that wasn't 100% needed and harvested them.

Walked out with 106 eggs, sold them for over 9 mil, went to outpost and got me a new ship :)

Just need to find a decent multi tool now.

I bought it on Steam and PS4 whilst it's on offer, I never played it at launch so have no bad memories of whatever that fiasco was.
Like others on here, I have absolutely hammered it over the weekend, best £20 I have spent this year.

Enjoying it a lot more than I ever did Witcher 3.
8/10 for me
 
I don’t think I have ever seen so many bugs in a game.

Reject a space battle, accepts it anyway, can’t get there as it is within a planet.

Damaged freighters return, but off the map.
 
Aye mine is now bugged to a point which I can't actually progress the game.

I'm stuck with the base computer archives not being accessible, then appearing inside my freighter, then appearing in the middle of an asteroid field.

Managed to sort that by warping my freighter out, deleted all my bases to try and start again.

Now all my bases appear on the galaxy map (because I've tried about 4 times to get the ****ing base computers to work) but with nothing there. If I teleport to them from a space station it takes me to where they used to be, with no buildings.

So because I can't progress the mission, I cant get any blueprints for anything so I'm stuck not being able to build a base or make any money from crafting.

Was really enjoying it up until now too which is something i never thought I'd say, but now i cant progress past just mining bog standard stuff theres not a lot of point carrying on, tried all the common fixes for the quest but none of them work.

Just know that your exo inventory is wiped if you die on foot, and your ship inventory gets wiped if you die in the ship. but credits earned, blueprints etc all remain.

Don't jump too high with the Jet pack, that's a nasty way to die on Survival....
I keep some sodium and oxygen on the ship now, so if/when I wipe it's not a rough start to survive again.

Oh and build a manual save box thingy as soon as you can and keep that updated. As a roll back point.

I'm sure it's been asked before (but it's a long thread). Trying to decide between normal and survival. I definitely want a challenge but ready survival can be overly grindy, though worried if I pick normal it will be too easy?

I've tried starting a few games on survival and quickly failed, though I don't want to give up that easily.

Permadeath - only mode to play if you want an immersive experience trying to survive in the universe with the threat of a permadeath and new game at any time :)
 
Hmm i take it weather / storms are local in multiplayer, that's disappointing.

I have getting **** on by fire rain and my buddy was fine ha.

That is annoying. I have had that one too, but I think it fixed itself.

I have this going on atm too. Noticed it last night but didn't think much of it until I read this post. :(

There are one or two bugs around but they are fixing quite quickly. I can deal with things like the above but am hating that there is ways to make stupid amounts money REALLY quickly. I made 170mil just by making something and stopped when I realised I could purchase the mats for said thing and make massive profits :( Looked on youtube and there is infact videos for the same thing, people making billions.

I filed it as a bug @ Hello Games, hopefully others have too and it will be patched soon. Now I gotta deal with my temptation lol. IMO the game is a cracking one now with all these new changes. Absolutely loving it.
 
Any new player guides about - somewhat lost of what I should keep / sell / drop.

Bag space is limited and it's full of crap lol.

Edit - built a locked box, didn't let me store anything though, Is it just decoration?

Superconductors by any chance
 
I'm still early in the game and need 95,000 units to get a microprocessor. Shooting asteroids for gold and silver is a way I've just learned to make money but 95k is a lot but I got bored after earning 25k and needed a break.

I keep getting targeted by pirates too and I still have the entry spaceship.
