NVIDIA 4000 Series

Ridiculous looking card made even more so by Noctua's baby **** brown fan colours, on a friggin gpu of all things they go with brown...
I love it . I love Noctua, my whole PC is all Noctua fans and cooler (with some lovely white Chromax on the cooler). This would fit the collection nicely if they put it on a 4000 series card (provided it's not priced ludicrously)

I doubt it will happen at launch , but we have a 3070 and 3080 version so could happen with the 4000 series.

Noctua GPU's are pretty pointless, as the coil whine on 3000 cards will be far louder than the fans at load.

If your old, or have hearing loss and can't hear coilwhine, that erodes the point of a Noctua edition card also.

Coil whine is sample-specific. My 3070 FE had absolutely zero coil whine even with my ear pressed up against it. A different 3070 that I briefly had later screeched like a banshee. I won't ever accept a card with coil whine again, it'll just get sent back within the returns window. It's a defect, no matter what retailers or manufacturers say.

 I can never hear coil whine so I must be lucky or old, probably both!

There was a clue in show, as he said we update our architecture every 2 years.. so expect a September 2022 release time again. All the rumours again being proven wrong about a July release for Geforce, just look at AMD AM5 and the new cpus >15 % increase but people like MLID and other so called leakers again being proven to be BS artists with their 50% and 40% and 30% increases etc etc.. Like I said wait for the details from the horses mouth not these clickbait sites, youtubers and social media clowns.

Also heads up as I said with the Intel motherboard prices for Z690 (that some laughed at when I said the prices will shock you once they are out and said won't happen), same is about to happen to AM5 motherboards with a new price level for motherboards and the amazing DDR5 memory that is so far proving not much better than highspeed DDR4 but at over double the cost.

Start saving up guys and girls for next gen cpus, motherboards and GPUs as the prices are going north and anyone that thinks they are not well remember you were warned as you were last time too but some well didn't listen. Same is coming in 2022 too but worse due to higher costs for everything now.:(

They could start do something interesting, like innovating and through that keep the prices down. Probably both camps think they can ride the mining train a little bit more if it will bounce back.

Same sort of battle as monitor backlight bleed, tbh. Customers say it's a defect, manufacturers claim it isn't.

Very happy that my new 3060 appears to have no whine to it. That or it's whining in the frequency range above my hearing. I did like my loud headphones as a teenager

The thing looks ridiculous, crazy sag, and a disrespect to the concept of building computers where by they modular machines where you fit multiple things such as capture and sound cards, we moving to an era where the design of computers only cares about the cpu and gpu.

TPU review specifically commented they had no issue whatsoever with a 4 slot cooler, the reviewers either seem out of touch or seemingly unwilling to destroy their media relationships.

You are out of touch of reality where 99% of desktop owners only use a single pcie device, almost no one uses sound cards, network cards etc anymore the GPU is not meant for small niche of people such as yourself who use multiple devices

I use a sound card to free up my on-board audio outputs for transducers in my sim rig. (And to encode surround sound when I game on the monitor)

Yes but how many other gamers have your or similiar setup, 0.01% of all of gamers? And usb external sound cards exist for a reason and they are actually popular unlike internal sound cards.

it's fine to not like a product for your particular configuration but i take issue with someone who calls a large GPU a disrespect to computers. And that's why pc components come in all shapes and sizes because there is no one size fits all, one person wants a single slot GPU for maximum space and another wants a 5 slot GPU for maximum cooling - neither customer is wrong and neither device is "disrespectful to computers"

Hi everybody, sorry if this has been covered already, but have OCUK announced whether they'll be doing preorders again with the 4000 series, or have they been scarred for life after the 3000 series?

Nothing announced yet, there is no official release date either. Most likely they do the same type of launch they did with the 3000 series and hopefully with more stock.

LOL! I think OcUK and other places will be v v cautious regarding pre-orders, they may do them in a smaller quantity at a time though if they get assurances regarding stock coming through. Expect Lovelace to be both a paper launch and be quite limited for some months after.

I'm sure they will, though this time around Nvidia won't offer a 4080 for £650 - IMO it'll be more like £900, which will mean thousands less orders automatically.

Pretty sure Gibbo said no after the absolute disaster last time. A lot of preople never got their card at all (they were sold at higher prices to new buyers in many cases - ie straight to miners by the pallet load) and many were waiting up to a year.

Unless there has been other posts made by @Gibbo since, in regards to any possibility of pre-orders, he did suggest that if they happen at all they would be limited....
