**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Does it matter that much? I know some G-sync owners have reported issues when trying to run AMD cards on G-sync monitors but what's it like the other way around?

If I saw a 1080 or 1070 at the right price I'd be tempted to give it a go, all this waiting with no real news is driving me mad and it'd give me something to mess around with while I wait.

That's interesting, The value of a mark one GTX 1080 may take a bigger nose dive than anyone thinks in the coming months.

480 + Freesync = 1070, basically, experience-wise, because I play at 2560x1080. I've reconsidered getting a 4k TV any time soon so the extra grunt is worth less. I am looking at 3440x1440 screens to upgrade to, but they're just too expensive for what I value them at and ultimately I don't really want an even wider (physically) monitor. This would've been a purely "want" buy rather than need, because nothing's running my 480 ragged yet. So as it stands, I guess I just aren't as excited as I could've been, and not excited enough to switch platforms in order to make it "worthwhile". Happy for those that are upgrading from much older systems tho, they're gonna be thrilled!

Is this going to have any knock on effect on the prices of the 1080, 1070's?

When is the proper Nvidia refresh happening? I think I'm holding off for the following reasons:

1. See what Vega brings.
2. Not convinced current 10 series are true DX12 cards.
3. Prices for the 1070 are still higher than I am willing to pay.
4. My 970 is still actually doing the biz.

NVIDIA have announced a 1080 price drop by 100$ so fingers crossed that mean £100 over here

That's true, Anyone that hasn't bought into Pascal yet should be able to do so for the prices they should have been from the start.

Very surprised at the price and specs to be honest, I was expecting $799. And 5% slower than the TXP.

The £100 drop is going to put a lot on the competition. AMD is going to struggle I think, a VEGA card with hbm2 competing with the 1080/Ti won't come cheap.

If the 35% is true over the 1080's then I'll be keeping a close eye. Possibly single Ti for me, thinking about ditching SLI at the minute.

As I understand it, the 1080 will drop by $100 (so £100), the 1070 will stay the same price, and the 1080 Ti will be $200/£200 more expensive than the 1080. Is that right?

Mega shocked by the $700 price, if that translates to £566 then wow, insta buy.

How much vram will the card have, cannot see it on the spec sheets? tho I have just woke up :p

As I understand it, the 1080 will drop by $100 (so £100)

I look forward to all the creative 'reasons' retailers in the UK will try to use when explaining why a $100 price cut does not mean a £100 price cut, because as we all know, thesedays 1 to 1 £ to $ exchange rate price conversions only seems to work one way.

Exactly right. Going to be some creative thinking going on :D

I am saying from what I recall the Titan XP clocks like **** on air and people who purchased one likely have it watercooled to get its true performance. Both watercooled the Titan XP will likely still be the faster card. Everything is superior on the Titan XP except for the memory speed.

All depends how the 1080 Ti memory overclocks as nearly all Pascal Titans can already hit 11000mhz (2750mhz) on the memory overclocked.

What is also interesting is at high resolutions in some games an overclocked Pascal Titan can be 40% or more faster than an overclocked 1080.

I think what we will see in the benching threads is a big overlap between the Titans and 1080 Ti's as their performance will be close.
