**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Looks like the mega wait has been worth it, nice figures.
The wait for custom cooling should be a doddle for me but difficult for my two nephews who await my ancient Titans!
They are so eager, it was them who pointed out the TI was due!
When it comes to new toys......

to be fair it does look like the jump of 35% over a 1080 is actually real, which is great. Still not reliable 4k60 but so damn close man. However and this is the big down point, once we get 4k at 144 + hz, I don't believe that even the 1080TI will be enough.

Don't think any 4K panels with greater than 60Hz are coming any time soon, so a non issue imo.

For a 1 gen change to be between 70 - 80% faster on average is a huge increase. Probably the biggest for a single gen!
How is it 70 - 80% faster? It's 35% faster than a 1080 which a 1080 is about 25-30% faster than a 980Ti depending on what OC the 980Ti has. So thats 55-60% faster not 70-80 lol.

However 60% is not bad tbh and i was expecting around 50% faster atleast.

Depending of the game it can actually be twice the performance of a 980ti. Do not take OC into consideration as ever card is different, so it's based on standard clocks. I was not talking about the 1080, and at 1440p yes it is between 70 - 80% faster in certain games.

A lot of reviews I'm seeing the fps is almost double on a 1080ti to that of the 980ti

Hold on don't take OC into consideration? Most 980Ti can do 1500 if not id be dammed if they can't do 1450. This is not the speeds reviewers have 980Ti at when benching. GPU Boost 3.0 automatically overclocks your card based on TDP and thermals so how the heck can't you take OC into consideration? Because Pascal cards are being OC for you and most can't OC them much more unless they are under water.
