**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

I will be water cooling the card and adding to my loop. I guess I might aswell just get founders edition?

Yeah pretty much, there will be little more overclocking wise with an AIB card even underwater. Custom card and custom block/backplate are both expensive. Get a founders as you will see the same clocks anyway.

In the past FE was more expansive than 3rd party cards.
Is this same now? WOuld 3rd party be cheaper?
There is the trick you see. Nvidia had you beleive the only reason FE was more expensive was due to them improving the reference design and using "Quality components" and came up with this Founders Edition. They stated they will be more expensive so people expected AIB cards to either be same price or cheaper and whilst it was true for a while you saw prices change. Now AIB cards cost more than FE and now you can see this round instead of paying $650 for a reference 980Ti your paying $699 for a 1080Ti Founders edition. And allows AIB to charge more whilst no one is apparently the wiser and everything things crikey thats a good deal compared to AIB.

There is no two ways about it, unless you are water cooling, the Custom cooled cards make more sense. You want to keep your boost as high as possible and whilst the ref card does a decent job, after market coolers do a better job (unless you are running a mini htpc or summit). I expect they might well be a fair bit dearer but as long as they don't take the ****, happy days :)

Any idea whether the AIB FE will come with game codes?

Seems like NV are honoring theirs and are sending out game codes.

Gibbo has said all cards will come with a code. I think its 1070/1080/1080Ti on nvidia website.

My guess is it will be sent after delivery/dispatch to prevent someone from cancelling their order and still having the free code which has happened before.

Is there anything wrong with getting an FE and then getting the EVGA Hybrid water cooling at fitting it myself? if AIB are going to cost £100 more then i'd end up paying the same as a FE + Hybrid cooler and I wouldnt have to wait a month.

Gamers nexus seem to reckon the 1080 hybrid will fit but I wont be getting one without EVGA confirming its legit for the Ti.

Just buy an EK Titan X Pascal block. Sorted.
