^^ We've got a 4K Samsung, no input lag or ghosting but has banding issues, and backlight bleed. TV's are never perfect in my experience. Unless you go all out for a decent OLED screen. Prices on OLED are getting better every year though. Once they are around £1000 will grab one xD
Still on my sony kd55x9005 4k limited colour 4k cost 3k when released, purchased a samsung 55 ks8000 a couple of weeks ago and sent it back, picture quality garbage compared to this 3 yr old sony, cloudy was just the start, 1st time i shyed away from sony, never again, the motion handling and picture processor on the sony's is night and day better.
Yeah our Sony Bravia in the bedroom has a much better picture but couldn't find any with decent DP input (not at a reasonable price anyhow)
Impressive size lol
4K on TV is awful experience (been their done that)
input lag is horrid even in game mode
Anyway, you guys don't seem to know what you are taking about. I am happy with my rAcer 12k hybrid touch screen levetating see through, wizard grade IPP panel. Its been rock solid for the past 5 years and I can't see the need to upgrade until 24k comes round next year!
Exactly! Why do you guys think that a 4k TV at 68 inches is half the price of a 4k monitor of the same size. Input lag is an issue, the technology is completely different. a lot of tvs have a different way to produce screen updates and they are not as good as monitors. You try playing an f1 game at a decent skill level on a pc via tv and then switch to a monitor, you will shave seconds off your lap times.
You guys speak of HDR, I bet you don't know what your Nits/lumens level is and if you do I bet it's under standard which means you are not seeing true HDR images anyway. It's harder to get a higher Nits level as the TV grows in size so at 68 inches I'd imagine yours is at most 400 which is sub standard for true HDR images.
TVs are good for consoles because they are designed for them and up until very recently haven't needed to be particularly sharp or lag free as consoles havent been able to produce the best image quality or needed to have the fastest screen updates in regards to input lag. Try using a mouse on a TV with your pc in a game like cs go. The difference is huge
Good Tvs have minimal input lag and its acceptable on some games. Playing The Witcher on a large 4k Tv is a much better experience than playing it on a small monitor,. If I want to enjoy the visuals in a game I'll play it on the large TV, if it's a game that needs high fps then it's the monitor. Both are there to be enjoyed, ignoring one is only limiting your options.
Why not play the witcher 3 on a large monitor? It just seems a bit crazy to me that people will spend thousands on a pc and connect it upto a TV that's on a stand or wall 8 foot away from them where they can't see the detail and would get a better visual experience (in my humble opinion). If you are into armchair gaming then by a ps4 pro and save yourself a grand. The PC gaming crowd has probably changed since I started many moons ago but if you have the money to plug your titan xp into a TV then go buy a console for it instead and leave the titan plugged into a monitor it deserves.
Because some of us live with partners and gaming in the lounge is much more sociable in that regard. Maybe it's an age thing I dunno
Horses for courses. There is no one best that fits all when it comes to monitors. This thread has become a monitor thread.
Now let's get back on topic, any news on Vega?
