**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

My super jetstrem has FINALLY been despatched, except now it's £50 cheaper than when I pre ordered, so I've gained absolutely nothing from pre ordering it. FFS...

Last time I pre order anything, especially from here.

Drop a PM to customer service, the stock arrived based on new exchange rate, when we put these live we were using around 1.18 rate, this stock landed at 1.29 and as its a GBP product we can lock the cost of the product. But wait until tomorrow afternoon before you post about this because I am gonna discount it even more so your refund difference will be more like £80.

Just passing on savings from a stronger pound. :)

A more in depth review of the amp extreme, I'm obviously not deaf, 30db, apparently the quietest, coolest, fastest card on the market, i certainly made the right choice :)

Being saying since day 1 this is essentially the fastest and quietest of all the 1080Ti !
I can only see this card being de-throned by something like an MSI Lightning or EVGA KingPin card which you can bet would be close to £1000 :D

Yes the Cores when they land will be a bargain, they are Extremes, identical except for clocks as they did not pass the yield testing, but even so at the reduced clocks they are still one of the fastest out the box 1080Ti on the market and if I can hit £750 with them will be one epic deal!

For £750 I would buy one. Is there a link to them or a preorder option? Can't work out which is which with all the zotac cards :D

Exactly! At the time i ordered it was £809 they were all similar priced anyway so don't feel like I've overpaid, it's also really good looking too, love it.

Click 1080Ti section, then check Zotac filter box at top. That will show you Zotac cards which are:
Zotac FE
Zotac AMP
Zotac Core Extreme
Zotac Extreme
Zotac Arctic waterblock thing

Ah, I see. It was the 'core spectre' vs 'spectre' bit that confused me.

I need the AMP Extreme. Just can't decide between the top two. Guess I will decide when they are in stock.

hi Gibbo, has anyone been in touch with Bitspower regarding the 1080ti Hall-of-fame waterblock ?

Bitspower are usually the company that make the HOF blocks for Galax.

Their english website is about as cryptic as an Egyptian pyramid tomb, I know places in the U.S that traditionally sell the bitspower stuff but would sooner buy from OCUK.

I'd say you either got unlucky with the card as the Strix has a reputation of being very quiet and the one other person who has coiled whine in the end it was the PSU whining, not the card, he also went from a 1080 I believe which had no whine before hand. AIO type cards tend to be the worse for coil whine as the coolers do not dampen the capacitors as much and such allow them to vibrate more which causes electrical noise. I'd advice trying another Strix, Zotac Extreme or a regular FE card. :)

from what I saw over on the Nvidia reddit a fair few people were complaining about fan noise/coil whine with their strix cards too.

you're probably right and it's luck of the draw, I've always loved asus products in general, so this was more of a shocker I guess.

tried a spare psu and the coil whine was just as loud (current evga g3 gold 1000w, spare g2 gold 850w) although I'm aware that basically every cars has a bit of coil whine to a degree, I guess this cards was just at the right frequency for my hearing?

might have a look over the zotacs specs, none of the other cards have really peaked my interested at the minute (other than evga hybird)

whilst you're here gibbo, looking to order a predator x34 from the shop, do you guys take returns (for exchange) if I got a panel that wouldn't hit the 100hz/had bad back light bleed? only thing that has me worried with these panels.

As far as we are concerned, they have to do 100Hz, if they do not, they are faulty.
Backlight bleed we except on the basis it is bleed and not IPS glow.

Question for any owners of the MSI Gaming X 1080Ti, do you set the default mode as Gaming or OC for playing games?

I'm not sure it matters like the old gen cards?

gpu boost 3.0 will take the gpu above those clocks anyway, much like out the box my old gaming x did around 1900mhz without touching anything.

but if say leave it in OC mode just to make sure you have the highest clock speeds
