**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

You only get X amount of games included though and they are mostly old AAA/cheaper indie titles, you've got to additionally buy AAA/larger indie titles.

If you watch the stream, it's $25 for 20 hours, but he also stated that higher IQ reduces hour usage if you want to run higher performance, so guessing it's 20 mins@$25 on TXP performance.:p

A new shield that does 4K HDR

New Shield?

Not sure the actual Shield unit is really 'new' tbh, original Shield's been running beta build of the 'new' Shield since last month.

From what I can see the only thing on the actual Shield unit that's new is a cosmetic redesign and they've reduced inputs(micro usb/sd are gone).

The old one was a flop/had issues and Nvidia would be competing with the Switch which they're already providing chips towards.

The K1 was no flop, it did and still does put newer tablets to shame.:p

They'd only be competing with the Switch if they release a 'new' tablet as TV isn't comparable to the Switch since it isn't a tablet, there was a K1 replacement that got canned-probably due to the Switch.

so there is no point of selling my 1080s?

because any release date or other info about the 1080ti will lower the values of my 1080s so I would need to sell up before i lose value on the 1080s i own...

is that what might happen?

Keep them, enjoy them..

2x 1080's can handle anything at 4k.. 60fps+

I don't know why you would want to upgrade just yet.

It kind of depends where Nvidia price the 1080Ti (if there is one... seems crazy to me they wouldn't have one to counter VEGA though). If it ends up being an £800+ GPU then you're probably good for a while yet. However, VEGA is arguably more of a threat, as AMD will want to be aggressive with pricing, so as and when they announce release date and price, which will likely be before the 1080Ti, that's what you'll need to keep an eye on. You may even find that the market has already gone a touch cold for used 1080's until more is actually known about VEGA's price and availability. One thing is all but certain though, their value isn't going to increase! ;)

oh

when will vega come out? or when do you think it will come out?

im sure there are lots of ppl who dont want to lose out on depreciation for their 1080s

id be happy if I got 550 for my classifieds but thinking maybe it will be priced about 450ish for as used 1080 classified? i paid 740 for each of them

The K1 shield was a massive flop losing them many millions, selling very poorly, causing fires burning peoples homes. It did that badly it had a negative impact on the NVidia share price bad enough that they had to mention it in the shares report. How can you call it anything but a flop?

I did see something regarding the autonomous cars that I think showed 30Tflops Volta being used in it which could be the sign of things to come? Didn't watch the event myself but the image with Volta and TFLops was shown in a finance article on MSN Money on me phone....probably old news but thought i'd mention it

Agree and actually this has got me thinking that I will be supporting AMD more with my next build regardless almost of performance because where Nvidia are investing their profits is not where I would like them too personally, on the other hand AMD are still at least appearing to be trying to progress for gamers.

I'm of that mindset as well.

Wasn't the K1, it was the original that got recalled.

So, been at work all day. How much is the new 1080ti and how much faster is it than a Titan?

I would hope much faster since people on here swore blind it was coming out in November so its two months late already?

Am i going to regret buying my Titan months ago?

If the Ti gets released it wont be faster than the Titan as it will have reduced stream processors even if it has a higher clock speed it still wont beat the Titan just like the TXM and 980Ti

It was K1 :p

Mine got recalled/replaced by Nvidia at no expense to myself and I'm still a big fan of it :p

Mine got recalled / replaced and then the replacement bricked so that somewhat ruined the experience for me. Shame, because it was a special piece of hardware.

Got mine in later part of 2015 and thought:o the original recalled one with the stylus was just called the Shield Tablet and that the revamp was K1 but you live n learn.

Never saw any sensationalised NV house fire pictures right enough but maybe pottsey can find some coz he just loves anything mobile from Nv.:p

It wasn't the 'Shield K1'. It was the the original Shield Tablet which used the K1 chipset that got recalled. The they fixed the issue and re-released it with a slight redesign and used the model designation of "Shield K1" rather than "Shield Tablet".
