**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Even at £600 I would not buy it. It would mean Nvidia know something and want to shift as many units as possible before Vega is out. It is best to wait see what Vega brings then buy whichever provides best price for performance at that point.
A lot of us made the same mistake with the fury, which ended up being quite the disappointment. £600 would be an absolutely awesome price for that kind of performance (there's no chance it's going to be priced that low).

Vega is completely different though, brand new architecture, there is a difference. It is like saying AMD has been disappointing for nearly a decade with CPUs so Ryzen will be crap, no point waiting, Intel dropped prices, buy buy buy.... Makes no sense. If one waited and Vega disappoints, can just get 1080ti then, nothing lost really.

If you want AMD Vega is the best choice. All nvidia fans with a 1070 or above should just wait for next series tbh. You want to pay loads of money for small increase be my guess. I will not be wasting any more money until I need the performance jump. I'm not struggling atm.

So based on this, the smart thing to do is wait until Vega before buying the 1080Ti, to see if we can get the best deal possible.

Well especially if the rumours are true that for the first month it will be Nvidia flounders edition 1080ti only and then if the speed of the AIBs with the 1080 are anything to go with, it could be three months before you get your Asus or EVGA pre order 1080ti anyway.

The founders thing bothers me more than the price, as they have terrible resale value compared to AIB cards.

I expect it to be expensive, but I don't expect to be forced into buying a particular model.

Dont then. You will just have another month to wait for an AIB version, thats all.

The GTX 1080 Ti rumored to be coming at ~ £800... 0_0

Zen's launch has taught me to expect the unexpected from AMD. So will def wait for Vega before considering which GPU to get next. Either way I won't be paying £800. GPU pricing is crazy atm xD

£749 in real money I would guess. That's also why I won't be buying Nvidia if I can help it in my new build, the price increase in a single generation is ridiculous.

That's low end and doubtful I'd say... I've always figured it will be £800+, especially for FE cards. £799 at an absolute minimum, but with zero competition (yet) Nvidia have carte blanche here to charge whatever they like, people will still pay it. Only if VEGA releases with the performance and price to match will it threaten Nvidia's pricing structure. I don't know if the AMD event today will reveal any more in that respect, but we can only hope.

It is a real shame and somewhat frustrating we won't be seeing VEGA for a few months yet though. Would be great if they were coming out together, proper head to head. I imagine some people will get impatient and just jump on the 1080Ti.

Why is it impatient if someone gets a ti? Sure if it was a week or 2 for competition, but we are talking months, then overcoming any stock issues and any other delays from either side. By the time VEGA comes out, the 11 or whatever series will be months away.... The cycle continues.

Then don't wait, buy a "founders edition" :p

I will wait on reviews/offical pricing before sticking the knife into whatever this founders edition turns out to be.

My only issue with it last time was the excessive pricing. If they want an exclusivity window, it sucks, but I can at least understand it.
