NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

Updated my GPU chart to show where the 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti fit in.

Even more clear now that the 3080 is the optimum card - at MSRP of course.

kinda backs up everything I said about the RTX 3080 being £150-200 too cheap at launch

That's an awesome historical record. Great work, adds clarity to something hard to otherwise visualise.
ScottiB, it makes me wonder if Nvidia knew that AMD would give them a run for their money and deliberately underpriced their offering, royally screwing retailers liken yourselves in the process.

Kinda just wishing I went with the 3090 at this point, rather than waiting in queue for a TUF 3080 that'll never come, 3080ti's price point is weird for a card that's lacking half the VRAM - VR gaming can really use that up.

There are many reasons why the 3080 was at it's price.

Nvidia make shed loads of profit so if you think they sold it cheap you are mistaken.

£590 for a GPU to play video games is not cheap! The other card at £1400 is just insane!

These are the most expensive GPUs ever, and that 2080ti price is all wrong.

It's likey been offered to members who have more than 1000 posts on their secret forum

PC gaming right now sucks, I'm seriously thinking next will be a console and avoid all this nonsense, as the consoles can do 4k . If streaming fix their blurry HD I'll just to that as well. GPU prices are insane and it's just weird to think how some people think it's cheap.

Probably to stop scalpers buying it, OC will give someone a discount code in order to buy it.

They are picking who gets to buy the product, by giving vouchers to those who have more than 1000 posts as they reckon those are the loyal customers.

Consoles have poor implementation of VR gaming, which I'm quite keen of, besides - they're being scalped all the same + they have subscription services.

Not to say they aren't great pieces of hardware, but for someone with a very good computer other than the GPU, I don't see a point of dropping to a console.

Ah ok... well I can understand it I suppose then - we live in unusual times and I think it's commendable to at least try to give it to someone who isn't just bunging straight on ebay... Not sure what else they can do really

Console VR should be ok. The have many exclusives than PC VR. And make gaming experiences rather than 5minute run around cash grab experiences.

Look at Resident Evil, that was ported to PC VR years ago and could be played on PS VR and that still can't be played on PC VR.

PS VR also has quality control , and would not allow consoles to sell, at full price any early access games. These are games that never get finished , but charge full price with the label of early access.

The console VR (ps4) hardware is weak, that's an issue. Hoping with PS5 it gets much better, maybe with adding booster to help it.

As I'm genuinely fed up with PC gaming, we can't be paying £3000 to £5000 for a PC to play max settings 4k it's not on. Just look at the cost of some medium and so called high ened gaming laptops now that peform no better than a desktop 3070, it's just insane.

I'm not a console person but will appreciate paying £350 for one then buy games, and can get a streaming subscription for the PC games ( hopefully they fix the blurry picture soon).:D

My only issue with VR is that the apparent "best" headset is owned by *******k and you need an account there to use it, which completely rules it out for me.

I agree there. But I dont think the Console VR use FB, also Steam VR don't use them, so the Vive headset would bypass FB. Just it might be more expensive and less better than the FB Quest 2.

I reckon it's not worth it loosing all your games library by using a fake FB account for VR to avoid FB trolling your privacy.

Are GPU prices finally dropping?
I've seen a few 3070s for under £1k on eBay now

Yes they are, even 3080s were forced to drop, I think also due to the 3080ti prices, as they got released at £1.1k and 3080s were pushing 1.5k so the prices all dropped for 3080s and 3090s.

It would be interesting to know if OCUK have sold any cards at the pre-voucher prices. I have no idea what the scalpers set their limits at but I expect OC did their research and priced them just above that. I would still find it funny if they did pay and helped OC to recoup some losses :)

I believe Scotti mentioned they had sold one to a bot owner who quickly called trying to cancel his order for 5k.
