Me too! Orchid Righteous 3D! And indeed, I am quite old. Old enough to say that this current build should be the last one I ever need. If I ever get a 3080 to finish it.God, I remember the day I slotted my first Voodoo Orchid in and ran Quake with r_wateralpha. I feel old![]()
Honestly it’s the best GPU I’ve owned to dateMe too, a smooth curve would have it around the 850 mark, it's definitely an outlier.

Same here. It just chomps anything. Contrary to what some think as well, I think it’s gonna have a very good lifespan.Honestly it’s the best GPU I’ve owned to date
Updated my GPU chart to show where the 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti fit in.

Even more clear now that the 3080 is the optimum card - at MSRP of course.
kinda backs up everything I said about the RTX 3080 being £150-200 too cheap at launch
Probably to stop scalpers buying it, OC will give someone a discount code in order to buy it.
Kinda just wishing I went with the 3090 at this point, rather than waiting in queue for a TUF 3080 that'll never come, 3080ti's price point is weird for a card that's lacking half the VRAM - VR gaming can really use that up.

I know, that's how the whole voucher code thing works here. They are picking who gets to buy the product, by giving vouchers to those who have more than 1000 posts as they reckon those are the loyal customers.
PC gaming right now sucks, I'm seriously thinking next will be a console and avoid all this nonsense, as the consoles can do 4k . If streaming fix their blurry HD I'll just to that as well. GPU prices are insane and it's just weird to think how some people think it's cheap.
Consoles have poor implementation of VR gaming, which I'm quite keen of, besides - they're being scalped all the same + they have subscription services.
Not to say they aren't great pieces of hardware, but for someone with a very good computer other than the GPU, I don't see a point of dropping to a console.
My only issue with VR is that the apparent "best" headset is owned by *******k and you need an account there to use it, which completely rules it out for me.
Are GPU prices finally dropping?
I've seen a few 3070s for under £1k on eBay now
It would be interesting to know if OCUK have sold any cards at the pre-voucher prices. I have no idea what the scalpers set their limits at but I expect OC did their research and priced them just above that. I would still find it funny if they did pay and helped OC to recoup some lossesProbably to stop scalpers buying it, OC will give someone a discount code in order to buy it.
I believe Scotti mentioned they had sold one to a bot owner who quickly called trying to cancel his order for 5k.It would be interesting to know if OCUK have sold any cards at the pre-voucher prices.
