NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

The biggest issue though wasn't the price, it's the unrealistic MSRP for the FE which, based upon NVs GPU cost, didn't give their partners a cat in hell's chance of getting close to it.

Yet when the AIB 3080's started to appear they were fairly normal margins above the FE pricing for AIB models, the prices crept up over time due to massive demand, scalping and shortages.

What on earth has the amount of profit made on hardware got to do with value to the end consumer? If the consoles are cheap, people will buy them instead of upgrading their PC with a new GPU. It really is that simple. I know several people who've pretty much sacked PC gaming in the bin because of the new consoles compared with the price of the new GPUs.
How does an adult need this explaining to them?
Per console sold Sony will make many hundreds, even thousands of pounds from game sales and subscriptions so it's in their interest to get as many users as possible and they do so by selling the hardware at less than cost. After all, does it matter if they lose millions on the hardware if they make billions afterwards? Nvidia, Asus, MSI etc don't have access to the same level of after sales revenue so their only opportunity to make money is on the sale of the hardware.
Sony are essentially the equivalent of the makers of Candy Crush...make nothing up front but a fortune on the back end.
Apex Legends.... Fortnite...
Free to play but make their parent companies millions! Why? After sales revenue models!!

I said the 3080 Ti was way overpriced and now so many reviews calling the 3080 Ti way overpriced and a waste of money as well. Really is a card that's just not worth it at MSRP, either you go for the 3080 which is priced extremely well or go for a 3090 as the 3080 Ti is a product that doesn't fit in anywhere at it's asking price. £849 to £899 and it would have slotted in very nicely between the two as its not that much faster than the 3080 and they want a stupid amount more with just 2GB of extra VRAM.

You would have had a 3080 at £649, 3080 Ti at £899 and then the 3090 at £1399 at least for the FE at MSRP, that's much more reasonably priced to me.

The 3080 Ti is a fantastic card, it's just not priced right.

Inflation for UK would be euro and USD vs Sterling which is up generally and I expect it to keep gaining so long as they can manage to do free trade then it shouldn't fall especially as feared. Just not avoiding the worst fears means the value of sterling reverses its losses some, inflation is apparent worldwide is my take and in every commodity I dont really agree its just electronics.

I thought 3070ti was coming first but I guess its highest performance and cost first. 1k might be a good price considering demand but I'd rather the lower tier, speaking pure hypotheticals at this point

From a well known retailer. Basically 3090 prices (prices now not before) and more in some cases for a 3080Ti AIB. Give it a week and the rest of the retailers will be having same prices for some of these cards. Some are clearly not right but who knows, we have seen worse for 3090s.

Haha, oh my god, so a £1048rrp for a FE suggested starting price by nvidia, and then what use to be a normal £150/£200 on top for a AIB, they add like well over £1000 or even £2000, they should be black listed or summit, how can this be right all most criminal ?

I wouldn't pay anymore than £800 for one of these especially when next gen will be out in less than a year.

As I've said before prices were going up from day one but only one entity in the supply chain had enough margin in the product to hide the increases.
Then there's Nvidia's other trick. Do you know when Nvidia confirmed GPU pricing for their AIBs for the Ti launch tmrw? Yesterday...
Until then they were basically working on guesses, which is why Gibbo mentioned that pricing was still being discussed as late as today. At least one vendor reduced their launch pricing today and at least one, that I know of, increased theirs.
That pricing above screams random number generator though because there's no way that Palit charged them more for a Gamerock than Asus charged for a liquid cooled Strix!

Do you know why GameRocks are stupidly priced now ? USA market doesn't get them and the USA people are paying 2x to 3x for one because they want to build RGB builds.. Honestly I think the worlds gone nuts.. I remember being offered £2.5K to £3K for a 3090 GameRock from a USA person on a Flight sim forums last year when they were "normally priced" and he explained to me how much demand there was for these cards in USA, I said nope because I needed them for my work and was not willing to pay Quadro prices as we know we don't really have a Titan of this generation "yet" or maybe never as they want us to really buy the A6000 or that range now for work (but I don't need Titan or Quadro drivers for my work and the 3090s are the perfect cards in Nvlink), I saw some on Ebay I think it was going for well over £3k for a 3090 GameRock and a 3080 GameRock well over £2K.

But I think that retailer is just testing the water or as you said random pricing as they do change prices when they actually get stock in but it normally goes up when in stock...
