NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

According to TechPowerUp, the TUF OC is actually a worse overclocker than the FE so it's no wonder you wouldn't see any real difference between them (not as bad as the Zotac Trinity though!) Of course, silicon lottery is a thing.
Tbf none of these ampere cards overclock in any meaningful way, the TUF is good because it runs cooler so may get a bit more boost but will only translate to a couple of fps.

Ever since EVGA starting doing AIO Hybrid GPU's they've been my go-to as they are relatively small, look cool with the radiator (especially if you have matching a matching AIO cooler for your CPU like I do) and run almost completely silent even under full load (that is if you run the rad fans off of your mobo instead of the GPU so you can get your fan curves dialled). My chances of getting an EVGA Hybrid 3080ti are approximately zero. Real shame everything has gone the way it has, I don't even think I've seen EVGA mention a Hybrid 3080ti at all.

I'm on the waiting list for that. Unlikely we will see any, they have only shipped 8 air models.

I'm an elite member already but can't see where to sign up for notifications. I guess I'm too late for the 3080ti sign up? I kept checking their site but didn't see anything and never had any emails from them.

The only FE card worth a suitable cooler is the lowest model they do, the 3060ti. The cooling does not scale well as you go up the product stack.

On the flip side, the overall build quality is leagues ahead, the AIB cards generally look cheap and flimsy and are prone to monumental sagging.

Only got experience with the 3090FE but I’ve not seen it go over 67C yet on auto fans with +150 on the GPU and +750 on the VRAM.

Typically sits at 65C with the VRAM mid 80’s. TBF the VRAM has gone up to 96C maxed out in CP2077 @ 4K, but that’s as high as it’s ever got.

Pretty much inaudible too, although initially I had some coil whine it’s completely gone now. I’d go so far as to say that price aside, it’s the best GPU I’ve ever had.

That's cumulative with the AIB OC though - so the Asus Strix LC (for example) can be nearly 11% faster than a stock 3080 Ti FE @ 4k.
That's not really a fair comparison though is it?
Cant take the OC value for the Strix vs. the stock for the FE.

Even if you did.... the Strix LC is like double the price of the FE. So +100% price for +10% performance. Even worse deal than the 3080Ti FE is over the 3080 FE

Id argue though that the value in the AIB cards is noise, but even that seems to be hit-and-miss.

The bottom of the barrel tier Zotac & Palit being louder than FE. Even the LC Strix with its AIO can be louder if using the performance BIOS.

One thing that is so variable of course is the amount of coil-whine. It seems no card is immune from that though.

I wouldnt be surprised if nVidia slowly choked off the AIB market. Effectively that's what's happening now...
So many more FE cards than AIBs. So never "officially" said no more AIBs, but simply divert the majority of chips to there board partner for the FEs.

And if the market was normal, and ALL these cards where in stock at there RRP, would anybody be buying the AIBs?

At the original 3080FE launch, the price difference made sense... £650 for the FE, £720~ for the Tuf, £810~ for the Strix. A small increase relative to the FE for a better bigger cooler and a small boost.

But the 3080Ti launch... makes almost no sense. The FE store did have a Tuf for exact same money as the FE, which surprised me. But even some Palit/Zotacs where sold for £1300, which seems crazy as they offer nothing over the FE.

Those core temps are pretty similar to mine. Never goes above 70.
But dam... my VRAM stock would hit 102-104 and fans go to jet speed. (1600 rpm)
After pad change tops out at 96, and fans dont cross 1400rpm usually.

What case do you have? And you running the OC with stock voltages? Mine needs to be undervolted to reduce the coil whine and reduce the fan speeds a bit.

You go to the 3080 Ti product page, auto notify is there. No chance if you haven't already, try for 3070 Ti tomorrow.

I don't want a 3070 so I'll just have to keep my eye out for an FE stock drop.

Keep an eye out tomorrow anyway, last week the other cards came in stock about 40mins after the 3080ti. Very sneaky move to sell the 80ti first so people had to go with that if they wanted a new card.

Stock voltage in a Corsair 750D.

When I first moved the 3090FE into my new build I had a massive amount of coil whine but after a week or so it completely settled down thankfully.

I’ve seen people mentioning temps in the 70’s and even 80’s with their 3000 series cards but I’ve had nothing like that and frankly if the 3090FE was that toasty I’d be pretty unhappy about it.
