If SLI is working well for you, why not 2 x 1070? They are unlikely to lose as much value as the 1080 anyway, looking at the price stability of the 970. So you could also get a much fairer portion back when it's time to sell on and replace, plus performance will be higher than a single 1080.

I'm actually contemplating this myself.

The 1070 will not vram limited like the 980 was either...

I'm thinking (depending on price ) sli 1070 might be the smarter option.

SLI has indeed worked well for me over the last few years, mostly because I play the same old shooters all the time :p

2 x 1070's would be pretty cool, but I sold my 780's on ebay last week and its already been painful going 4 days without being able to game, let alone waiting another few weeks :p

Also I love the Reference design, It matches my case and lighting setup and I just think they look great! I know a lot of folks like to bash the 'FE' cards and while I concede they are way overpriced it is the card for me :cool:

Understand about the wait. Pretty sure there will be 1070 reference too, though, 2 weeks after 27th May.

Waiting for AIB cards like the rest of us I guess. I would be buying a ref if it didn't require 6+8pin to decently overclock. After all I'd only be wcing it.

The new cooler is also not great. Card can hardly keep its boost clock. Unless you want it at ridiculous audio levels.

Quick question. Will we have reviews of the AIB cards with the different cooling solutions before they possibly release on Friday?

Otherwise they'll be sold out before we know if they are any good or not!
