NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

My Strix easily breaks 1500mhz stable on stock volts but is TDP limited and can clock down occassionally. Hopefully, it's not due to the ridiculous temps the card reaches at times. There is a tangible FPS improvement in the most demanding games.

rememeber the boost !!!! :p the g1 with boost is 1392 out of the box.

download gpuz and check for highest gpu clock. and check the highest temp.

FORGOT! Thanks guys

:D

incidentally.....maybe its just me.....but i *think* BF4 is smoother if i dont tinker with the clocks.

Does that make sense?

I've noticed my 970s idle at much higher temps than I would expect. The top card is currently at 46C, that's hotter than my reference 290 idled at *__*

Sorry another shameless plug here:P

Here is a test completed with IC Diamond Tim, that uses a MSI 4G gaming GTX 970 GPU.

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18636802

hope it helps.

BTW is there a new bios for msi gtx 970 4g gaming GPU yet please?

As my card will not go past +200 on the GPU core not MATTER what volts i put through it, both with stock paste and ICD

I think its the rubbishy gpu boost that is causing the issue. Need something that will disable that.

Cheers

Frosty

EDIT : Nope GPU has got to go back, right fan is borked makes a ticking noise that increases as the fan speed does. 80% it's awful, it sounds like a fan does when it's been in a dusty case for a year

idle is probably higher as no fan is moving

The fans always move on these.

The fan is actually speeding up a few percent at idle just to keep temps down :/

My GPU Power is constantly going to 35% just browsing OCUK. I might try some older drivers.
