NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

Did anyone use live update 6 to update their vga bios? (msi 970 that is)
Did your 2nd card also flash or not, i just tried it and now i have one on the older 1F and one on 2F (flashed one).

Got my Galax 970 today, works great.

The only game I've tested that has a hint of coil whine so far is the Witcher 2 during loading screens. Hits about 2800fps and there's an audible whine. Also a very quiet whine during gameplay (about 120fps average with these settings). My old 560 was far louder though, so it doesn't bother me at all, my fridge in the kitchen is more noticeable and headphones block all that anyways.

Using the frame limiter options in nVidia control panel for any older games that are hitting thousands of frames per second also works.

Temps no higher than 65 degrees at full load, quiet as a mouse with every other game I've tested.

"Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.

Regarding your concern,Hi,I am sorry to tell you that if you re move the warranty stickers on the screws, you will lose your warranty.

Thanks for your cooperation in advance"
Response from MSI about replacing the TIM on my cards :(

OcUK have confirmed MSI would be ok for water blocks so how true that is I don't know.

I'd say that's their standard response to stop the majority of people messing with their cards and breaking them doing something silly. Whereas as long as they can see the card is fine you'll be fine, etc

Is that under some sort of load? Because you have a pretty big temp difference between the 2. MSI is a very very cool card (mine idles at 22, the room is not heated though).

Nope no load at all, they are next to each other in my case though, would it be worth moving it a slot away? Even at stock speeds they run that kind of temp, the GPU 1 does power 3 monitors. Looks like it goes up to around 80 when playing a game.

Is 70C normal under load on a Gigabyte 970 at stock clock speeds?

Case is a 540 Air

Thanks

It's 10C warmer than mine yet my card is overclocked and voltage bios modded.

Although I have three fans at the front, one at the bottom and one at the rear :) ( 540 Air stock fans are naff )
