I have the MSI TwinFrozr II. All 3 fans are off when using normal apps around the desktop. They start to spin up when heavy gaming, one by one.

Can't get more efficient than that for an air cooled top end card surely!

EVGA ACX2.0... Superclocked or FTW

New they're £460-470 & come with 5 year transferable warranty.

I think most non-reference coolers do that on 970/980 cards... the only ones I know that don't are the Gigabyte Windforce and I think the Palit ones don't either.

I thought it was a mistake on their zotac product page but they do actually include their own backplate? interesting...

Should be. Even if you OC the GPUs you should be fine. If youve got a decent quality PSU, even better.

I cant say as Ive never owned one but quite a number of people have and were pleased with them based on the posts in this thread that ive seen

Got my EVGA 980 SC today, love it. Runs a little hot at 78 but that's probably due to me having no cooling in my case. Need to sort that out soon

That is hot, I'd setup a custom fan profile in AB just to cool it better.

My case is rubbish for cooling. It's a Cooler Master Silencio 450, what case & fans would you recommend I buy? Every card I've had has always ran hot
