lol, I like that.
Is it labelled as a Galax or KFA2 on the box and fans...?
Good luck with it and hope that you get a whine free experience etc.
Reading the above regarding safe Volts, what Volts are Safe?
My SOC jumps between 1.200v to 1.225v on its own. When it drops to 1.2 there is a drop in GPU Frequency too but I'm well within the Power limit (say 70 - 80 %).
If I use AB and nail 1.225, it's stays there and I can clock higher.
Thoughts for those who own a SOC?
Galax for me.
A bit of coil whine I can put up with and from what i've seen if you 'burn the card in' then it does reduce a fair amount however if it's terrible, i'll simply take it back to OcUk on Thursday when I drop my 970 off and get a replacement.
Run GPUz while gaming and what does PerfCap reason show?
Has anyone got the low gpu usage bug?
You're probably noticing instability at higher voltages due to the increased pcb, vrm and memory chip temperatures. I noticed the same thing back when I had a reference EVGA 980 SC in that voltage barely seemed to help my OC and higher voltages caused instability. However, on my current cards I've noticed that increased voltage does actually help to improve clocks and is probably down to the cooling solution on it (includes full coverage of vrms/memory chips etc.)
Also I found the only way of really controlling voltage would be at bios level. Due to the way boost states work I found that afterburner voltage adjustments aren't clear or precise enough. I simply edit the bios with an additional increment of voltage at the highest boost state (74) and that works a hell of a lot better than afterburner.
Also your point re custom bios is correct. This is especially true on custom pcb cards as the components, power delivery etc can be completely different. I flashed an EVGA Bios on my old 970 g1's and it caused all manner of artifacts, when I copied the same settings into a version of the G1 bios, flawless. The maxwell bios tool is fairly easy to understand once you've done it a couple of times.
If any fellow inno3d ichill owners want a copy of my game stable and benching bios versions let me know.
Not with the GTX980 but I did experience it with the GTX970.
Thanks for replying.
How did you find the move from the 970 to the 980?

I'm getting that too, and I haven't downloaded the driver yet.Looks like the Geforce experience is borked on the latest drivers, it opens then says it has encountered a problem and has to close
