Nvidia GTX295 Information

NVIDIA has definitely made this a worthy competitor to the Radeon HD 4870 X2. But in no way is this a “4870 X2 killer.” From our narrow look here today with what is likely to be an immature driver set, the GTX 295 is matching the 4870 X2 in gameplay. Maybe it will best it in a month, but I would not bet on it.

Its taken nearly 4 months for this? Glad I didn't wait and switched to ATI.

Double the FPS of a 4870x2 in some games, up to 50% in others.. I'll take two pinches of salt please.

$500 base price, + VAT%, + Bring British Tax, + Dodgy conversion rate + OcUK premium = £675ish.

Tri-SLI of those at over £2k ? :D

$500 base price, + VAT%, + Being British Tax, + Dodgy conversion rate + OcUK first stock premium + The privalege of buying from OcUK = £750 :o

Who seriously believes benchmarks from ATI and Nvidia. You would have to be pretty stupid. I will wait to see what the previews and reviews show.

4x faster in FC2? But only slightly faster in Warhead. Where the hell did they get that from. LOL.

That's the point, you've read the graph wrong, and that's what they want you to do. It's not 4x the speed, the graph says 26% faster overall.

Look at the bottom line of the graph, it doesn't start at zero, so you could have what looks like a huge lead, like 4x, which in reality is much much smaller.

Those graphs are purposefully made to be misleading and make something look better than it is.

Well they are saying $499 so that will be anywhere from £420 to £500. cheepest 280gtx is £300?

I believe thats around the same price they retail at in the states (the 4870x2 that is), so appart from gouging to begin with, they may very well settle withing the £3-400 range.

GTX 280 afterall, is out of production as far as am aware, and they where just breaking even at the reduced price.

We'll see :)
