Let's say Nvidia uses the cut down 3090 ones that fail testing for the 3080ti, that will off the 3080 completely as far as stock goes
Exactly. Quietly drop the 3080 in favour of the more profitable 3080Ti.

Won’t help supply issues. The miners will still snap up every Ti going, unless they gimp hash rates in a way that is totally impossible to bypass.
Also, they are obviously not making enough to cover back orders. There’s still thousands waiting and thousands with their money ready wanting to buy a card.

4000 series around the corner....
3080ti for 750£...
Lay of the crack boys.
3080ti FE's easy £850 then the other 3080ti's for a min of £1000 but it won't help with the current microchip crisis ...it will make it worse ! Miners will take 98.% of the new cards with bots
That's only the MSRP... actual market prices will be £1200 and above, likely closer to £1500.3080ti FE's easy £850 then the other 3080ti's for a min of £1000 but it won't help with the current microchip crisis ...it will make it worse ! Miners will take 98.% of the new cards with bots
And if it does sit between the 3080 and 3090, it will be absolutely appalling value. You could be looking at an under 10% increase in performance.
You do realise the 2080ti was $1200 .. so you are dreaming at £850-£1000

Depends. If you can actually buy them at list price then it will be a great buy. I saw a retailer selling an Asus 3090 strix OC for £2100 the other day.
Well that was cheap, I saw some go for £2600 last time I saw them up for sale and in stock and all other 3090 cards they had in stock were £2350 starters and up.
My memory, I went back to check and it was £2400.
I feel so lucky i got mine at £1595.
Yes I bet, the worlds gone crazy mate. I remember when we were all trying to get cards when they were released and the headaches and then people saying we were all mad paying for 3090s and not waiting for 3080s.. Now a 3080 in stock costs nearly what a 3090 cost back then... Shame people didn't see what was coming.
Then you have people now expecting a 3080ti to cost £850 - £1000..
The availability is in the headline.Looks like the Ti models are pretty much now fixed and are being submitted... https://videocardz.com/newz/gigabyte-submits-twelve-geforce-rtx-3080-ti-12gb-graphics-cards-to-eec
The prices and availability are going to be pretty hilarious, of that I'm sure.
