Hahaha if you buy in time maybe - guaranteed the retailers will price gouge as soon as they know what FS monitors work with nVidia cards.
It’ll be interesting to see what the difference is between the certified models and the rest of them. I hoping the non certified screens will work well enough so that some dirty shenanigans like this can’t happen.

I have the AOC 32' that was at 200 some months ago, hooefhope I'll notice a difference with that konitmo, lots of ghosts on it though
Or sign of Nvidia being concerned about something, like being challenged in control of some market segment. If that’s true it, that’s warning bells for AMD.
The presentation showed some having shimmering or pulsing at certain framerates, etc.
I don't notice that so much, there are two different types, an older panel was TN and apparently not great, it was replaced with the IPC screen, the newer one is Q3279VWFD8, D8 designates the new one.
I also never run V-Sync in any game, i always run Fast Sync in the drivers, one other thing, nVidia defaults this screen to 60Hz, you may need to go into the CP and set it to 75Hz.

Also Intel supporting FreeSync too.Or sign of Nvidia being concerned about something, like being challenged in control of some market segment.
While there's very little more solid info about AMD's coming GPUs, maybe Nvidia has more clues about them.
Navi isn't supposed to be top performance card, but good performance card at very good price and lower monitor price would certainly cause threat.
Maybe this is intended as preemptive move against that.
Anyway with the prices of Nvidia's latest we should get support for VRR without paying any additional further taxes.
So if the same doesn't happen with a AMD GPU's is it not Nvidia's implementation that's the issue not the monitor in question
Also, they've finally realised users would not be happy with a ****ing great propeller strapped to the back of their £1000+ screen lol
Great news for NVidia owners and I can see this hurting AMD. Buying a NVidia GPU and G-Sync screen was/is expensive. Buying a VRR screen and an NVidia GPU will be a tempting offer for those who are on a tighter budget.
With this news, looks like 4K/120 Hz/FPS OLED is a definite purchase once NVIDIA releases a HDMI 2.1 GPU.
Well i already have mine, nice 32" 1440P IPS, i'm chuffed to bits with it, great screen that should keep me right for a few years.
It is an interesting question - not enough information out there yet to really know what is happening but I'm sure certain tech sites will jump on it.
nVidia have a certain way of supporting the technology i.e. the way low framerates are supported which I'm guessing some panels aren't upto and unlike the AMD implementation they probably don't compromise on - atleast not initially anyhow.
if they had done this before vega, nvidia would have cleaned up all the people on 290/390s waiting for vega, i said it back then and i agree with that point still now. i would have brought a 1080 no problem.Haha. Yep. First gen stuff though, usual costs a lot and has weird stuff on it to make it work. Second gen comes out and does it better, for much cheaper without needing to take crazy measures like sticking a fan on it.
Some AMD users seem to be in denial about it no affecting AMD. But it will. Saying that though, it might eventually affect Nvidia also, as when AMD release something more competitive people will not feel stuck with G-Sync and will be able to change over to an AMD card. I know I would, so it might balance out potentially.
Yep. I will get one more year use of this monitor and once the warranty is getting low I will shift it and buy one. Just in time as the 2020 stuff come out and the 2019 one's are near half price like it usually goes

There is definitely more to this than Jensen is saying publicly imo.
