Obesity

Though I’m 4 stone heavier than i want - I was 4 stone more at my heaviest.

Doing 90-110k steps at work a week has helped me lose half a stone in a month.

Would love to do more exercise but I have plantar fasciitis and some days I struggle to walk after work.

I have severely high thyroid antibodies in my blood - potentially Hashimoto’s. That causes very slow metabolism and weight gain. The levels should be under 25. Mine were 612. That’s almost 12 months ago.

That reminds me to book another blood test next week

started off healthy today with high fibre cereal and black grapes am/ hummus and salad on wholemeal lunch ,chick pea /veg vindaloo tea time
but just had a big bag of hummus crisps and demolishing a bottle of vino

Tbh when a vegan gets an urge its nearly always fish. i ran out off my algae tablets and wow i was desperate but that's where fish get their omega content from iirc, meat just turns my stomach, bacon, well i get the same taste from the fake stuff with melted v cheese on but probably not much healthier than the real stuff but my mum insists on me having replica foods when i visit

But total energy alone, does not dictate the effect on the human body, or how it drives human behaviour.
It is the after-effects of having nutritionally poor calories that lead to lack of energy, bloody sugar spikes, over-eating, putting on weight, diabetes etc.

Your body stores fat due to insulin responses. It is a evolutionary thing, whereby if we came across a bounty of sweet fruit or beehive full of honey, it tells the body to store fat for later times when we might need it.
This is just 1 of many reasons why X number of calories of sugary foods will have a different effect on you as the same number of calories from say protein and veg.
It is impossible to eat a calorie it is a heat unit nothing more..

Why? You rarely ever see a fat a Asian. Their diet is a lot better than the western pattern diet.
That used to be true but increasingly Asian countries are being inundated with supermarkets full of junk food and because it's cheap and a lot of Asian countries are relatively poor they are adopting it

Even then, my father in law is obese and diabetic and he's done that just from white rice at every meal.

In Vietnam they are actually proud when their kids are fat because they think it shows they have money.
