OcUK Dieters Progress Thread

Sounds like you're putting an ace effort in :)

My motivation seems to have left me this week, I'm yet to do anything - still eating good but not been to the gym (again).

I can't make it this afternoon as I have work to do, but really must go tomorrow.

Now I've got a routine with most of it being classes I'm finding it quite easy to stick to

I do find the cardio hard motivation wise because it's just too easy to sept off the bike or the cross trainer and go home :o whereas with a class I'm in there and there's no escape ! :p

I'm pretty good once I'm there and usually actually enjoy it, it's just getting myself there in the first place especially when the weather outside is miserable, I just don't feel like going far at all.

Doesn't help that my housemate who signed up to the gym under the pretense of coming with me seems never to be interested in going anymore :( - It's much more fun when you're with someone.

Yep , that is a bit of a problem with my cardio as well .. I'm on my own :(

Got a mate from work coming with me on Saturday morning so I can't dip out of it then :p

I sometimes make scotch eggs to have as a snack.
I won't lie, it's a lot of work but they taste great and are actually quite good for you.

I make my own sausage meat - cut up a pork shoulder, put in the food processor until minced up nicely then mix with some wheatgerm (10% the amount of the meat), salt and pepper.

Hard boil some eggs.

Take two layers of cling film and pummel a portion of the sausage meat until it is thin and then wrap it around the egg.

I generally do about 5-6 or these at a time and then just put them in the oven for 30 minutes on 180 degrees.
If the meat is lean you get good quality protein with little fat in the meat, fibre from the wheatgerm and then more protein and some fats from the egg.

Lots of hassle but if you make a few in advance it's worth it.
The lots of hassle makes it not much good for me I'm afraid :/ Just don't have the time right now and I'd rather something a bit simpler.

Not made with raisins and a bit of muscovado sugar sprinkled on top. Mmmm!
There's no earthly way of convincing me that porridge is anything but crap, sorry :p

Been over a month since i went to the Gym and atleast 3 week since i biked to work.

I must admit my fitness is still there, just that there is no go in me and just over a month till my bday and my sister wedding, this weekend i will destroy my body.

I hope. :D

I need a new bike, as my old one will cos too much to fix for a 4 year old bike.

Put on half a pound this week :(

Have been working really hard , Did Body Pump on Monday , Circuit on Wednesday and Pump again last night .. I'm hoping it's just water weight ... I sat in front of the mirror this morning and cried :(

I've decided to add in a Spinning class ( 45 mins ) on a Friday evening as I just lack the willpower to get the cardio done because I've got nobody pushing me

So my timetable will look like this :

Monday : Body Pump ( 1 hour )
Wednesday : Circuit ( 1 hour )
Thursday : Body Pump ( 1 hour )
Friday : RPM ( Spinning ) ( 45 mins )

Hopefully that will be enough cardio work ?

Whats Spinning?

Don't worry Piggy. I'd actually say it's muscle rather than water. You're building muscle by doing 2 pump sessions a week, and you're probably still losing fat too! You've said yourself that your tummy is firmer and that you feel a lot better. So if you put your rational head on rather than your weight-obsessed head, you KNOW that you're doing well.

What is there to cry about then? 0.5lbs is really sod all isn't it :) And you should be cheering if it's muscle. I really wouldn't worry. *biiig huuugs*

I'm in Poland at the moment posting from an internet cafe. How's that for dedication!!

I'm dreading looking at the scales when I get home!! Think I might try and just stay off them for a week. I haven't gone mad, but eating out every day & glasses of red wine being 25p-60p REALLY doesn't help. Not been eating all the gorgeous puddings though. We've been doing loads of walking around, but I'm still expecting a gain when I get home. Ah well, I'm on holiday, and I have nothing planned for the next few months, so it's going to be mega slog for me. I'm determined to hit the stone mark now :)
