OcUK Dieters Progress Thread

I lost 19lbs over 6 weeks, and I am pretty sure none of it was muscle as I have kept all strength.

I have a bit of a cold now which means I can't work out and diet has gone to hell. Hopefully when I feel 100% again I will find my motivation, it is just depressing in the mean time.

Put on half a pound this week :(

Have been working really hard , Did Body Pump on Monday , Circuit on Wednesday and Pump again last night .. I'm hoping it's just water weight ... I sat in front of the mirror this morning and cried :(

I've decided to add in a Spinning class ( 45 mins ) on a Friday evening as I just lack the willpower to get the cardio done because I've got nobody pushing me

So my timetable will look like this :

Monday : Body Pump ( 1 hour )
Wednesday : Circuit ( 1 hour )
Thursday : Body Pump ( 1 hour )
Friday : RPM ( Spinning ) ( 45 mins )

Hopefully that will be enough cardio work ?

Aww Piggy, you seem to be doing just fine. This is my first post in this thread so bare with me. Last August I decided to do something about the way I looked (I was a tad overweight). Have started the following regime.

Tuesday (Gym Full Cardio and Weights)
Thursday (Gym Full Cardio and Weights)
Sunday (Gym Full Cardio and Weights)

Also watching what I eat. Have lost a stone and a half since last September and am toning up nicely am currently pushing the following weights at the Gym.

Leg Press : 70Kg
Leg Extensions 20Kg
Chest Press : 22.5 Kg
Stomach Cruncher : 40Kg
Shoulder Press : 12.5Kg

Will post more as I improve :)

2nd weigh in today, finally, and the healthy eating is working as my weight is constant at 14 stone, exercise not really been started as weather so bad here last week or so haven't got out much to walk.

So will be a long haul but one i am sticking to.

Been an interesting two weeks for me on the diet front, i met a new girl and have spent practically every day/night round hers so I haven't really been able to regulate what i'm eating (i'm not going to be saying to her i'm on a diet 2 weeks in!) However as I had been single for a while before i'm sure you can imagine plenty of exercise has been taking place round hers.

Anyway i weighed myself this morning upon coming home and I'm pretty pleased to see that i've gone down to 14st 6lbs thats from a starting weight of 16st 10lbs. I'm definitely looking a lot trimmer than when i started and my cv endurance has gone through the roof.

The one I do lasts an hour and consists of :

A warm up and then 1 minute on each station ( about 20 in all ) with some conditioning inbetween ( normally a Body Pump track )

We have a nice cool down and stretch afterwards :)

The stations consist of things like weights / situps / punchbag/ jogging on the spot etc

I find it really good because you are doing lots of different things and you can take it at your own pace ! :)

Give it a go mate !

My local leisure centre is somewhat cheaper but I went there for a BTS launch day and found it very unfriendly and clicky !

I'd rather pay the extra and be in a friendlier enviroment :)

Don't have that sort of problem where I go. Can chat to the staff about footy and members are generally nice.

Keep getting wrong for leaning over the handles when I'm on the step machine though :p

Has anyone EVER seen anyone use these things properly!?
No, and people don't seem to be able to use treadmills on an incline properly either. They think that walking on full incline, whilst clinging to the top of the machine is actually doing them some good. If you made them let go and swing their arms instead, I bet 90% of them would collapse and fall off the back within minutes :D

Haha so true, I've seen people talking on the phone while hanging on with one hand. Even funnier.

So many little things that make me laugh and annoy me in my gym.

Theres pre-set barbells going up to 45kg, yet people feel the need to use the olympic bar in the squat rack todo 30kg bicep curls. Then when you ask them nicely if they can use the pre-set barbells so I can squat. They get all moody.

Should be a 50 page gym etiquette book to read before being allowed in maybe :)
