OcUK Dieters Progress Thread

After my post near the start of the thread i'm afraid it's taken me until now to get my arse into gear. Realised how much weight i've put on since i left my old job and quit smoking over a year ago, to the point where i have developed stretch marks  :(

Been keeping up a fitness regime of circuit training and general cardio fitness for 40 odd mins after work plus walking to the football park where i do it (1.5miles each way)

Going to find out how much a session at the swimming pool will cost me as it's easily within walking (or jogging  ) distance. My aim now is too lose as much weight as possible by the end of next month (my birthday) and to this point i need some scales so if anyone can eyebox me a decent cheap set?

The good weather at the moment is helping, and is actually proving an additional incentive as i'm getting a slight tan!

Cheap scales aren't worth it as they soon lose accuracy over time as they are used. Far better getting a decent set but if you can't afford to look for one in Boots or at a gym that will do you a weight print out. More accurate than cheap scales for definite.

Been feeling very tired today after travelling on the weekend and body attack last night .. jesus I forgot how hard that was

Needed to catch up on unpacking etc so left out the 30min circuit class tonight

I will be getting up a 6.15am tomorrow morning to attend the " 20 min workout " class at 7am .. I think it's kinda like a ciruit class

I'll be doing this class on a Mon, Wed and Friday

I'm not a morning person so god help me :/

Sounds like you don't need that much help Piggymon, sounds like you're doing a stunning job with the effort you've been putting in.

I've really slacked for the last month or so and I'm really narked at myself for it :(

Thanks Peter :) .. I am quite proud of myself .. I've gone from no exercise and hating it to going to about 4/5 classes a week and actually enjoying it !

I've got some muscles now and can feel them and it makes me grin knowing I'VE done that :D

When I was skinny previously I was still a little upset because my boobies shrunk to a B cup and this really put me off trying to lose the weight this time because I loved my D cups ( I used to be about 8.5 stone and lost a stone and a half over a few weeks due to being ill but didn't put it back on afterwards ) because I am losing the weight PROPERLY this time and building up my chest muscles my boobies are now a DD/E and the biggiest and perkiest they have ever been !

So by putting the weight on I now feel I have actually done myself a favour ... I am now doing exercise to get myself fitter and I think I will be getting my body into the best shape it's ever been :)

Now stop slacking and get shifting ;)

They'll be fine :D

I'm not grumpy in the mornings .. I just don't talk very much or the words that do come out of my mouth are complete nonsense :o

TTIU.... NO MUST RESIST!!! :p

Well done everyone who's working their asses off (pun intended) on this thread.

I did it I did it !! :D woot

Was quite good, did lots of cardio and weights .. I think I'll start doing this 3 mornings a week as well as my other stuff, feels quite nice to have been up earlier and done something :)

My new workout timetable

Monday : 7-7.20am Circuits, 7-8pm Body Attack
Wednesday : 7-7.20am Circuits, 6.30 - 7pm Ab Attack, 7 - 8pm Circuits
Thursday : 7.30 - 8.30pm Body Pump
Friday: 7-7.20am Circuits
Saturday : 11am-12 Body Pump ( will fit this one in whenever I have the time free )

So that's going to the gym 5 times a week, 8 classes a week totalling 5 and a half hours

Not bad for someone who hated exercise and swore she would never set foot in a class again :p

Ok weighed myself this morning and blah have put on a few pounds and now weigh 14st 4lbs. Well got the exercise started at last though so should see the weight come off slowly.

I haven't done a full week of the new regime yet but will do soon so I'll find out then :p

I haven't felt tired or drained yet .. I do feel knackered after Body Attack but I'm fine the next day :)

I think what I'll probably do when I'm the shape I want is eat a bit more naughty food and cut down on the classes ... Will probably lose the Wednesday morning Circuit / Wednesday evening circuit and Saturday pump leaving me with a nice mix of cardio and weights to KEEP myself in shape

I suppose it will be a little trial and error getting the right balance for maintaining but at least I'll have a better idea of what to do after going through all this :p

... an 8 mile walk along the coastal path near me, plus a 3-4 hour walk at Edinburgh Zoo yesterday as well. Took the camera with me both times to make the walk seem less like hard work today and to get pics of the animals yesterday, so was carrying a pretty heavy backpack and camera around my neck to add to a bit of weight and resistance.
Now that's a damn good idea! :)

Given the distance from the shops to the bus stop, and from the bus stop to home means that I've got a 45L rucksack full of shopping half the time I'm on the bike - same benefit. It's also quicker, cheaper and less hassle doing it that way.

I went biking to my mates last night and when I got there I had a piece of glass in my tyre, I had to ring my mum to come pick me up because I wasnt walking 7 miles.

I dont know if to fix it or just buy a new inner tube.

Check the size of the hole?
If it's just a puncture, slap a patch on - if it's more than about 1/4"(6mm) it's not really worth doing.
And carry a 79p puncture repair kit in future! :)
