OcUK Dieters Progress Thread

Phew! Just got back from the gym. They pulled me up for not having paid my membership since December so I have to finally cough up three months+ fees. :D

I definitely haven't lost any visible fat since hitting the weights, but there's definitely more muscle definition so hopefully by the AT/SL meet (one month  ) some of the fat will start to melt away. Time to step it up a notch!

Back at the gym today?

Ive just restarted me diet...gotta go to me sisters wedding in june so ive got some pork to lose before then...so i can get into me spiffy suit...
Not today. I forgot that I had a platelet donation session booked, which I feel is a more than adequate excuse :) It also means that I've had to eat 2 cereal bars today to keep my sugar levels up because I'm prone to fainting if I don't have enough sugar beforehand. All went well though, apart from the golfball of a bruise which appeared about 10 mins before the end of the donation... D'OH! I now look like a junkie! loook! :(

Job interview tomorrow after work, but if I get back at a reasonable hour, I'll pop down then. If not, it's a Thur/Fri/Sat & Sun stint. I want to get down the gym AT LEAST 3 times a week for a proper workout plus classes.

Good luck with diety things Balddog!

Weighed today and came in at 8st4lbs

Not bad at all considering I've been out of action for best part of a week and ate naughty food all 4 days of the bank holiday weekend :o

Back into the routine a bit more this week so fingers crossed for next Monday :)

Don't get disheartened dude - from what's already been said it does go more slowly after the initial drop. So long as it's still going in the right direction, barring the occasional hiccup - that's the main thing! :)
Besides, slower means your skin has more time to recover its shape and elasticity which means you'll look and feel better for it in the long run.

Well, I'm back on the bandwagon :) My attempts at starting back to the gym last week were thwarted by a rather unfortunate accident at the blood donor centre resulting in this (It got worse!).

However, after many hours of poking my bruise and deciding that my arm was no longer at risk of exploding, I went to the gym today. Straight back into my old routine and very chuffed with myself. I need to make a change though, so I'm going to do a week of normal routine (10 mins bike, 20 mins random prog on crosstrainer and 20 mins jogging) and then start my new prog (adding rower for 10 mins and changing jogging to that time interval thingy where you do xmins of walking uphill, ymins of jogging and then zmins sprinting at full pelt). I've been assured by my mate that it'll be much more interesting and challenging.

Anyway, just thought I'd post a blurb and say thanks to you all for your continuing support :)

Ive been keeping up with this thread for a while and have finally made up my mind that its about time i join in. Since christmas i have been putting on so much weight it is really getting me down. I'm going to get myself weighed and work out how much i would like to lose. I'll keep you updated. Well done to all those who are on the band wagon, keep up the good work :)

got before / after pics?
5 stone in 5 months is an amazing achievement.

i think im going to be hard pushed to get under 18 stone due to my weight and bf%! (doesnt help that im ramping up the weights again, meaning more weight!)

Haven't weighed this week yet - Been at Desmo's parents house doggysitting so not had access to my scales :/

Will weigh tomorrow morning but I doubt I will have made a difference as I am blobbing so I'm retaining water :(

I have a baddy belly at the moment so don't think I'll be able to make attack tonight but should be ok for Express Circuit tomorrow night - Then I'm off to my parents for 10 days so my routine is stuffed :/

I only have just over a week to get myself sorted for Alton Towers when I come back from my Mum and Dads so I will be on a final push then, I'll be going to all the classes I can manage and also being very strict with myself ( including weekends ) until then ... I don't think I will be 100% happy by Alton Towers but I think I'll be about 75% and I know I will be amongst good friends so I'm not too worried :)

Damn, just got in from the gym after biking it to work then a 8 hour shift and then biking it acorss town to the gym, did chest/arms on the weights and abit on the rower, spent a good 45 mins in the sauna and steam room.

Biked it back home and stopped off at Somerfields for some chicken, I am absolutely knackerd. I will be in bed for 8pm tonight.

8st 3.5lbs ! .. not bad at all considering I'm blobbing and retaining bucketloads of water !

Last weigh in now for 2 weeks  Off to my parents for 10 days tomorrow :D

no sorry no pics (might have been a good idea) someone else suggested that i should have done it for charity, if i had known at the time i could do it i would have done, but have tried several times before but failed
its not just the diet i have gone on, i also stopped smoking and have given up alcohol for a year
i have gone from an tight 44" to a comfortable 38" waist
am a lot fitter, used to be hard just walking up the road, now cycle 20 miles 2-3 times a week and walk every where a can

Hey all

I have been watching this a while and have decided to join in!

Joined the gym about 6 weeks ago, weighing in a 16st.

Since then I have been taking it fairly easily and building up slowly. I do 40 minutes cv and about 15 minutes of weights, followed by 20 lenghts of the pool (20m).

So far I have lost 8lbs which Im dead chuffed with as I havent even started working on my diet yet.

Went to a spinning class tonight (for the first time), incredibly hard work but definitely worth it, 45 minutes of hardcore cv lol.

So all in all a good start I think, hopefully when I start work on the diet I should really start to see some real weight loss.

Will keep you all posted
Aaron

I hit the 210 mile mark on my cycle computer, thats a 210 Miles in 26 (8 miles a day average  ) days of cycling, I am not losing a lot of weight because I am not pushing my self as hard so I am not burning much fat but my fitness level is uber, I can jog a lot faster and go a hell of a lot longer.

I did my Back and Shoulders yesterday, My lower back is abit tender so I know I am working the right muscles. Tomorrow its my legs and I should be able to lift a lot.

:D Roll on 15th of July

well, been on the diet for bout 2 1/2 months now, and lost about 1 stone 3 lbs which im happy about :)
Also since ive been doing this ive started running as i was unfit, i mean very bery unfit!
Started off by doing short 2 mile runs where i would stop maybe 4 times on the way round (thats how unfit i was!)
Now, ive just got back from a 6 mile run with 0 stops :D and have decided with my mate we are gonna do the london marathan next year which gives me motivation to keep going.
Now weigh 14"6 , wanna get to 13 1/2 ( im 6"3 in height)

thanks for reading and i wish you all the best for your future weight loss :)

Chris
