Well Done Piggy! :D Thats brill! (when u said bf, i first thought u meant boyfriend and thought  )

I dont post on this thread very much, even though I know I should, but I go through phases of wanting to lose weight/get fit then forget!

But this week, I have cycled to and from work, and cycled to someones house on the otherside of town, been doing tummy toning exercise and eating lots of healthier food I went up to 10st7oz two weeks ago, and this morning I am 10st4oz, I want to be 10st for the essex meet! So lets hope I keep it up! :)

You've lost 3 ounces? Go You!!!! :p

quick review last night.

bf - 21%
weight - 19st

ive done shockingly well considering its world cup month!

was leg day yesterday, im now leg pressing nearly 2.5x my bodyweight for 6 reps while making sure the full movement is controlled by my heels rather than toes (so contraction to 90o at the knee). Not bad, but plenty more to go.

knees are clicking on squats, so going steady with them :/

Full moon in the afternoon!

Well done all of you!
Lol :D

Well I joined a new gym today. One near to my new work place. It seems pretty nice, although not as posh as my old one. It's more like a leisure centre. However, they have a swimming pool and a huge studio where they run Body Pump SIX times per week... oh and it's cheaper too :D Went for a swim tonight. Hopefully this is me climbing back on the bandwagon again.

Good to see you back Kate *hugs* :)

Edit : Just wanted to point out I'm crying because I LOVE Body Pump and can only do it twice a week at most

They said that they only have ONE day where they don't do it  Can't wait to start. I shall get a course timetable next time I go. They do tonnes more classes than my old place too, so I might get involved when I'm feeling a bit more confident. Would like to have a go at circuits, RPM and kick boxing.

Oh, forgot to mention that there's a jacuzzi and steam room too :D

They also have a women only gym (oh la la) which has virtually NO mirrors... hurah!

Sounds great ! :D

I'm so glad my place does lots of classes, I'd never get all the work I need doing in the gym :/

They do sway more towards the Combat Classes in the evenings which is a bit of a pain as it's my least favourite class but I can't expect to have it all my way

The do loads of classes in the day time - I really wish I could attend those instead but meh .. gotta go to work ;)

Circuits is good but I kinda prefer the structure of a BTS class .. I find because everyone is doing the same thing it keeps me going better

I did try RPM once but I had a baddy bum and was bored :/ ... Hopefully you'll like it !

-gem-, firstly BMI is a horrible scale that is pants imo.

21 BMI is fine tho (should you want to use the scale).
What would be good, if you could get to a gym that will test your bf%, i find that a much better scale to work with. Ive seen some scales in Boots that will also tell you your bf% im sure.

think they are actually reliable though?

Set yourself a target and you'll soon see if it's realistic or not

I used to be 7 stone but thought that was too skinny so I was aiming for about 7.5 stone which I thought was a reasonable target but the closer I've got to where I want to be I've realised it's unrealistic so I've changed it to 8stone :)

I never had any muscles before but now I'm doing weights twice a week at Body Pump i've built some up and muscle weighs heavier than fat so when I get there I'll probably have the LOOK of about 7.5 stone but in fact wil weight heavier

I'm very nearly there now - pretty much got a flat tummy ... just need to drop a bit more fat from my tummy, thighs and butt and I'm where I want to be

No doubt once the BF has gone and I continue to do weights I'll put weight on - Desmo's sister is an instructor, she's only a few inches taller than me but weighs 8.5 stone and is VERY lean ... hasn't got an inch of fat on her ! .... You can use the scales as a rough guide but not a definitve guide ( yes it's finally clicked :p )

Not really no, because it doesn't take into account your body fat or build. So, all these really lean men who weigh a tonne because they're pure muscle get told they're fat according to BMI.

i think gem is asking about the scales for bf%, from what im told they are reliable, JJB gym has them near my work, they use those to measure people instead of calipers.

BMI is unreliable tho as mentioned :]
