Also once i have run MCPatcher & click Test Minecraft the texture pack can be selected & works fine through the window produced only on single player.

but then if i start up the game through explore it just gives me a black screen

I disabled minecart mania and the nether plugin.

I'll try re-enabling nether later and we can see if it's still working okay. I suspect MM has issues with 1.5 tbh.
 
FT, please may you have a look at the animal config file? Sylv did a quick check for me earlier, there were about 400 mobs and 50 animals :/ Ratio of pigs to creepers was 1:10.

If you get a chance to look at it, that'd be great. :)
 
FT were you running the new 1.5 compat beta release of MM? I ask because the previous version was 1.09 (iirc), which had a bug in which massive logfiles were created killing performance hugely.

I ran MM1.5 last night on my server, but even then I was having major lag effects whenever weather came into play.
 
Perhaps. I'll just disable the crowd control plugin at some point.

I may not be around to sort things out much for the rest of the day - have just discovered that our garage has been broken into and they've stolen my and my housemate's bike. Rather annoying.
 
Server has been running nice! Oh yeah, just shout WHO in the chat to find out who is online... :)

Anyway, the saloon is pretty much finished. There are a few chests for free starting items, I'm setting up an item shop, the portal is upstairs and there are rooms upstairs for people who are new to store their stuff in while building their own houses. Chests aren't filled yet but I will be making a load of stone gear soon.

Need to put a sign at spawn letting new people know they can go there and get stuff :)
 
Just to let you know i figured out what was wrong & why i couldnt run Misas Texture pack...

I was trying to run it form the browser not the downloaded game!!!

All good now!!! I love my underwater tunnel looks even better in 64x64 & i can see easier what needs to be bettered lol
