OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

I know on the OCuk server there is some mod to prevent fire spreading and lightening is only supposed to cause a flame effect without damage but me and kainz managed to start a forest fire on his private server using the weather control mod and firing lightening bolts at trees, I only managed it once tho.
 
I've been moving house (mrthing on the server) and I'm battling a talktalk adsl connection at the moment, hope to be back on soon.
 
Played too late again last night, now I'm reaching the surface, I kept waking up convinced "Mugabe Desert" (Kainz's name!) was falling in to my cave and I needed to jump out of bed and sort it! :(
 
You are rather obsessive about that mine PR!

Anyone know what happens when we've mined this map out? Scrap and restart on another one or can it be expanded on the fly?

Theres a corner that gets deleted and regenerated every now and again, so even if we scour the map dry there will be new resources there.

Even so, "mining out" the map is pretty much impossible. Its too big.... even if all the natural caves get cleared out you'll still be able to strip-mine for materials.

exactly. the last map was in use for over a year and we didn't even come close to depleting it of materials.

it helps that things like wood and water are infinite.

I've spent the last 4 days in there chipping away block by block, so yer I'm obsessed with it, and after today I'm off until the 9th so definitely getting it finished!
 
To thoes looking for a build space.

My home is public and you can port over to it.
There is a small village near by that used to be run by MrMurical and yasyas1
both of whom i have not seen recently. But the land area has plots there that are open to players to build in.

You are more than welcome to port over and find your home there.
Just dont build near my main project. you cant miss it to be honest but anywhere on the other side of the village i would think is open to builds and wont get in other peoples way.

Same here. My home is public and quite a way away from spawn. Most of the surrounding areas are empty and just waiting to be built on.
 
I'll be building my lighthouse on an island just off spawn then moving elsewhere when I come up with my next idea - so I might pop over to one of your houses for a nosey :)

Quite like the idea of building something that fits in with the current landscape next time.

For those who haven't a clue what PR's wabbling on about, he is presently building the largest mine under his house that I've ever seen. The thing is so large that it somehow leads into my 'large' mine beneath my nearby 'Gherkin' structure. So I am now digging a large branch directly towards him to merge both mines.

If Notch ever implements real world physics, 'Mugabe Desert' and the surrounding area will vanish into a very large HOLE.

PS: Halfmad = Murderer!
