OcUK Powerlifting Totals

So what if someone is on juice lol, what about the others in this thread that don't want to be going up against someone else with the upper hand, surely everyone should be equal, its CHEATING!

Surely to be cheating you have to break the rules. As no rules were ever set i can't see how juicing can be said to be cheating. There are many things that will give someone the upper hand even if you ignore steriods.

I know guys on juice who still can't lift what i can, and i know guys who are natural (to the best of my knowledge) who can blow my (and your for that matter) lifts away.

It's just a bit of fun to see how you compare to others on the forums don't worry too much about what others are popping/jabbing.

Deadlift 165KG today :) 10 KG off my PB, but that had very sloppy form. Lift today felt bang on perfect. Still a double body weight lift.

Last weekend I only had 150 up a few times, before stalling! I had increased in 20KG jumps, which isn't how I normally do it in increments of 5KG and 10KG as I near the 150 mark and it saw me pull 165 today :)

Also pulled 150 without straps. Considering a few months ago I couldnt even hold 110 for reps without straps. My right hand started to open up towards the top of the rep though.

Been told about a grip where you place the top of your thumb/thumbnail on the top of the bar and then grip around that. SO the hands not fully closed, but working with light weight is supposed to improve grip strenght lots wth this method. Anybody tried it?

Had a particulary good deadlift session yesterday. Only 5KG off my 1RM. It went like this:

5 Minute/1km run.

2 sets of 6 reps powercleans at 50KG
2 sets of 6 reps powercleans at 60KG

Deadlifts:

70KG x 10
80KG x 10
90KG x 10
100KG x 10
110KG x 8
120KG x 3
130KG x 3
140KG x 1
150KG x 1
160KG x 1
170KG x 1
170KG x 1 again (Never done it twice before)
150KG x 5 (PB never pulled 150 more than twice)
150KG x 5 (dont know where these came from!)
110KG x 10
70KG x 10 (Felt like I was just standing up with nothing by the end!)

Need to improve my lower back strength as keeping it rigid enough to pull heavy weight is the issue. Morning raises will be working their way into my routine.

Squats from friday, took 120KG down and up cleanly. But failed at 130KG and 125KG. I cant stand squatting on that ******* Smith Machine. Puts you in completely the wrong position.

Also gave front squats ago which I now love! So I think I'm going to powerclean and hold in the front squat position what ever I can, and then have people load the bar up some more.

Any advice for front squats? Only used a 45KG bar, but it killed having my wrists in that position!

Just thought i'd post my progress :)
