OcUK Powerlifting Totals

i wouldnt think its a good idea, stick to the main lifts, there are many many better candidates for addition than front squats plus they are going to be relative to ordinary squats which proves nothing. If anything was added it should be either overhead press or clean and press imo

I'm fairly confidant I could shift 220 kilos + on front squats within 2 weeks! The question is would others allow it to be added to the totals?

this isnt a competition, so tbh if tank wants to submit a front squat total for his "squat" figures, then so be it :]

Tank, if you can front squat 220 then you really should get back squatting, you would do a phenomenal amount :]

Different strokes for different folkes. I think I would feel more comfortable doing it front ways rather than back ways it just feels seriously awkward all that weight down on my neck, even with padding.
also, thats a horrid front squat. nowhere near low enough!
I can go lower on a front compared to a back squat.

Thats as low as I would go lol, I don't fancy a prolapsed anus;).

if you dont go lower its not a squat its a partial. Rules are rules. The problem with front squats is supporting the weight, your arms are heavily involved as is the lower back. In a back squat the weight remains in line with your feet, a good stable center of gravity very little strain/effort required to hold it in place, not so with front squats.
