Seems like the performance varies quite a bit, game depending. No doubt due to the limited bus speed/reduced processing cores, etc.
In the current climate, I don't think it's that bad an option, though certainly not a compelling one. Power efficiency seems to be its main advantage, though.

Its more expensive and slower than older gen cards existing in the same climate.
Its not "the climate" its planet Nvidia.

It's called being shafted this should be called 4060ti , the 4070ti should be 4070

Enjoy my DLSS too much to jump to AMD and FSR. Not paying £800 for AMD and 20gb of vram that I won't use. I see the 4070 at under £600 as a stop gap to the 5000 series from NVidia that should bring back some normalty to pricing and performance gains.

Definitely people on 1070s and 2xxx series etc desperate to upgrade but have refused to so far will probably go for it - assuming they can get for the launch price quoted and not the £100 inflation which will happen subsequently.

The 7900 XT is such a good card IMO. If they could just get the price down a bit more on some models it would clean up.

Aside from a handful of genuinely sabotaged cards the only real gripe is prices for every card.

Hmmm the top end 4070 models will be quite expensive. I note the Inno3D 4070 Ti went up today, from £799.99 to £818.99.

Time stamp at Paul`s closing comments - this is the first card since the GTX 780 series where the lastest XX70 isnt faster and cheaper than the last gen XX80 series card.

I mean, respect to Paul for calling it how it is.... Nvidia want all of the cost benefits from moving to newer nodes and architectures to go in their pockets alone, basically we are expected to fund Nvidia's high margins for nothing in return.

From the reviews i've seen so far, still watching a couple. The general view on the 4070 is that you should be buy a 6800xt
