OcUK RTX4070 review thread

Seems like the performance varies quite a bit, game depending. No doubt due to the limited bus speed/reduced processing cores, etc.

In the current climate, I don't think it's that bad an option, though certainly not a compelling one. Power efficiency seems to be its main advantage, though. :D

Its more expensive and slower than older gen cards existing in the same climate.

Its not "the climate" its planet Nvidia.

It's called being shafted this should be called 4060ti , the 4070ti should be 4070

Its clearly aimed at 2070 owners, but with a $100 up sell, its about 60% faster than a 2070 Super for $100 more.

Meh... £600, that's a lot of money, if i was in the budget for a £600+ GPU i might have got the 2080 Super to start with and in that case i would only be for a 45% gain 4 years and 2 generations later.
Definitely people on 1070s and 2xxx series etc desperate to upgrade but have refused to so far will probably go for it - assuming they can get for the launch price quoted and not the £100 inflation which will happen subsequently.

I really hate this idiocy....

"Oh its bad but the others are really bad so i can't criticize it"

Stockholm Syndrome.

Time stamp at Paul`s closing comments - this is the first card since the GTX 780 series where the lastest XX70 isnt faster and cheaper than the last gen XX80 series card.

I mean, respect to Paul for calling it how it is.... Nvidia want all of the cost benefits from moving to newer nodes and architectures to go in their pockets alone, basically we are expected to fund Nvidia's high margins for nothing in return.

From the reviews i've seen so far, still watching a couple. The general view on the 4070 is that you should be buy a 6800xt

Not a good start haha.

Not sure why that would be the advice at the current 6800xt prices...?

Sounds like a rather stupid thing to do if anything.
