*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

A friend's son has a Quest 2 but doesn't have many games. I have more games than him but no time to play them. If I share my username and password with him (I've known them for years so I trust him to not do anything stupid), is there any way he can log in to my account on his headset to play the games he doesn't have? Or would that mean he'd have to do a factory reset every time he wanted to switch accounts? Or, even worse, are we likely to get accounts banned by Facebook for doing this kind of thing?

Facebook have just released multi-account support and family sharing. This looks like the way you could do this. But it won't work for all games.

I'd say keep your rift until you know the games work well on the Q2, I've both and everything runs smooth on the CV1 but Steam VR games (perhaps just the controller movement) stutters on the Q2, I'm glad I didn't sell it (Yet)

Steam VR runs sweet for me on Quest 2 using offical link cable...No problems in HL or Saint and sinners

I'm pretty sure with the new multi user he can log in as you on his headset. Leave app sharing off. And play all your games as you. Or put app sharing on and play a subset of your games that work with app sharing. Depends on how precious you are about your cloud saves. Also depends on whether you plan to use app sharing on your Quest 2, as that toggle is one headset only.

So, gone through all the steps and wirelessly using virtual desktop. I have 2 games downloaded via the oculus store but when I open VD in the headset the games tab is empty? I try to then start them via the oculus app and it does like me being wireless. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Picked up a quest yesterday. I'm struggling to get past the blurriness. I tend to spend 5minutes moving it about until dead centre is clear but the edges of my view are still pretty blurry. I've read many other have similar issues.

Look with your head, not your eyes. It's a limitation of the lenses. Obviously there's variation on how big the "sweet spot" is. For me, I can read the menu text regardless of how close the edge, but it's pretty blurry at the edge, getting to the point where it'd be a struggle with smaller text, but in the centre and quite a lot of the image, it's pretty clear and crisp.

what this man says below - when i first got mine i thought 'stuff this - how could anyone be thinking this is good fun' - then realised the little ole trick, as per below, was to move my head more and my eyes less. took me a bit of getting used to but now it's just natural (or as natural as it can get)

The only headset with decent edge-to-edge clarity is the Index, but even that isn't perfectly clear at the edges and it comes with the downside of horrendous lens glare. It is great though being able to read the panels in Elite Dangerous without having to move my head much, plus the wider FOV makes a huge difference.

you got the VD patch thingy from sidequest? from memory i think that's needed to run it wirelessly.

The v25 update has made the sound unusable on my Quest 1 when using link. Lots of static and gurgling noises. Lots of reports of the same on the web. Also reports of the guardian issues. My other pc is still on v23 and working fine.

Update 26, with couch mode/tracking.

This Oculus Quest and Quest 2 update brings with it couch tracking so you can now bring your couch/sofa into VR with you for optimal relaxation.
