What does it mean in practice? Just no longer need side quest and dev mode etc?

presuming all you need now is the app and on the pc the streamer app? No side loading of pat he’s or dev account at and no need for side quest unless you want to to get games?

Yep means no side loading necessary. Store version has full functionality.
I think Facebook want to remove incentives for people to sideload, as it requires a dev account. Virtual desktop is the biggest incentive to side load, followed by the Dr. Beef ports and emulators I imagine.
My biggest concern with Facebook locking off sideloading and only allowing AppLab is what happens to those apps, as they are a grey area.

Does anyone own Dash Dash World? I'm having odd graphical issues which is making it unplayable. Basically the right lens only shows some textures, whereas the left lens shows everything.

I'm quite pleased with the wireless results. Just did a few laps of Monza in ACC. It drops the resolution a little but the whole game actually was less blurry than I was getting using link and playing in Oculus mode. Maybe it's because it's steam vr. I will have to test that.

just buy the 64Gb version, 256 is only needed if your adding films to it

Or if you like to have a huge library of games installed at once. Personally I'm fine with uninstalling things I no longer play, but some people like everything to be ready immediately.

PCVR on Quest 2 is very good
upgrade from a Quest 2 is something like the index
but your still tethered

Q.2 is completely wireless including PC games

i just about get away with 1m lol

I got this for my dad, and he found it helped a lot, though he doesn't move about much: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08R86LBC3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Another plug for Gorilla tag. I'm playing this more than I played Asgard's Wrath. A lot of the community are really friendly too, lots of funny moments (I swear you hear someone hitting/smashing something every few minutes), and just generally good for a laugh. As well as being a good workout (not thrill of the fight level, but still gets you moving).

With Oculus now allowing Virtual Desktop on the store what happens to those who have already purchased it via Sidequest? Am I expected to pay for it twice?

It's always been purchased from the Oculus store and not sidequest.

Sidequest was only needed to side-load the patch that allowed VR game streaming. That step isn't needed now.

hmm

no MVH studios video on the Quest 2
things are slightly different

does this look about right ?
