When I connect the new USB C cable it charges the Quest 2 headset, will transfer data and Oculus Link shows as being available, but it does not work. The only time Oculus Link has worked for me is over the short USB C cable that came with my phone, although that wasn't great. The CV1 demanded a lot of USB 3 sockets and I had to add a PCIE USB 3.0 card for the sensors. But despite now having loads of them (2 direct into the motherboard, 2 on front panel extension and 4 on the PCIE card) I can't get the (supposedly high spec VR friendly) new cable to run Oculus Rift with any of them. My default for testing is to use a socket on the back direct into the motherboard with nothing else connected to USB 3.
OK = good or bad in this case?

erm
you have to look directly at it
there is no eye tracking, you move your head not your eyes![]()
Yeah I know. Just feels like it should be a wider area of focus. Feels a bit narrow.
To run pc content on the Quest 2 - do i need to buy and install VD on the quest itself or on PC? Or both?
Just buy the Quest 2 Virtual Desktop. The PC streamer you need to stream content from your PC is a free application you download from the VD website.
How long did it take you guys to build up your VR legs enough to play full locomotive games?
It's different for everyone. Some people take weeks, others get over it in a couple of sessions.
Cheers. I suspect I'll be in the weeks cohort.
Also, I think we played ESO together.
Ah, You did!! Now I remember, it's our smooth talking guild leader!!
Pukipie, that name seems pretty apt right about now![]()
