*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

I've already got (and finished) Asgards Wrath. It's a huge game and takes a long while to complete.

The only thing I didn't really like about it (apart from the ending) is the blocking mechanic you need to defeat powerful enemies. Fortunately if you play on the easiest difficulty then you don't have to use that mechanism. Once I worked that out the combat was much more fun.

Iv placed my ticket with support to claim Asgard’s wrath and had a comical resource response from their support basically saying they haven't a clue what I’m on about and I’m not eligible . Just screen shot and sent them a link of their own Twitter account, awaiting reply.

I know how that feels from the support side. Management make a decision but don't actually bother informing the people that will be dealing with it.

Interested in a Quest 2 - seems a bit much requiring a linked Facebook account.

Are there any settings you can use to minimise their data collecting abilities?

Nope.

Don't like it? Then you'll have to stump up another £300 for a Reverb G2, or £650 for an Index.

I never really understood the issue, unless you are somebody who doesn't want a facebook account full stop. Seeing a bit of gaming activity doesn't seem that much on top of all the other data they already collect on me.

Yeah some seem really aggrieved by it, I am just trying to minimise my social media footprint as I get older. As for the device, it works as a standalone, so I only need an internet connection? And then a cable and powerful enough PC if I want to link it (I think my Vega 56 might be OK for most games but probably not the top end/90Hz).

Edit - might need to cable my main rig upstairs for the wireless feature.

I created a Facebook account for my Quest 2. Set everything to friends only or private. Haven't visited my Facebook page. Apart from a couple of social apps like Venues which confirm that you're accessing via your Facebook account it's been almost invisible.

Still shouldn't be mandatory to have a social media account to access your VR hardware though.

I have a feeling they're going to regret this. Support ticket overload incoming :p

Still don't quite understand why they're giving away a PCVR title. No doubt that'll be the next Twitter complaint...

I sent everything in my email yet I still get an email back saying please confirm the following...
Everything they asked for was in my email.

Delay tactics if I ever saw them.

It's little different to your phone in my mind, and you need an android account or apple account to access those.

My support worker clearly hasn't heard the news, and told me it's for new customers only. I've linked him to the tweets :D.

Yeah I'm using a Vega 56 and its okay. Obviously not as amazing as it could be, but will do for now until I next upgrade.

3080 right ;)?

Would have gone down the 6800XT route but I think I would use DLSS and RT.

Yeah I'd probably go 3080, though I don't think I'll be going with either for the time being. Getting this headset has given me the urge to upgrade though, but can't at the moment.

I had the inverse of that. I upgraded my GPU and then felt like I needed to update my VR too. Went from CV1 to this.
