****OFFICAL MOH 2010 (Medal of Honor) THREAD****

I just pre ordered it from EA store, will be playing it thursday, carn't wait.

I also preordfered, but after looking at that link i posted, seems to take a stupid amont of rounds to drop someone. Looks like a reskinned bc2 almost.

I actually don't mind the ammount of bullet's it takes, at least it work's both way's, I mean do you really wanna die every second and sit looking at a respawn screen like in MW2. (I dont own this game btw, I did try the free weekend and played one round and i didn't enjoy looking at that respawn screen every second, as you seem to drop dead if looked at funny)

Probably won't be paying for what is essentially BC2 with a new gui.
That's what it looks/sounds like anyway :(

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be proved wrong and they didn't just use another game, make some new maps and change the radar to the top of the screen, make points appear in the middle of the screen not below, and use the same medal souunds, just to appeal to achivement-whores :p

Ok is it just me or is that just BC2 in a different skin?

I went over to the official BC2 forum http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/1168618-here-your-patch.html and spotted this post

Wow, i cant blv it. Hit reg looks good, the knife seems to work, saw no more CG or Tube spamm. New skins, recolored HUD and even new maps! That is where our ideas from the forums went.

I mean, this is a joke right?.....RIGHT? On the second half of the video you can even see a game mode like rush where you have to plant bombs on Mcoms and its exactly the same siren/alarm sound after plant. I lol'd. Thos stone boxes to cover from bc2 are all over the place too. It has got mortar strike and the tanks and all. Even the waste of a end game animation.

Now it isnt enough anymore that EA is pushing games year after year but now they are bringing the same game with other skins twice a year. COME ON!

I cant even put it to words after waiting like 6 weeks for the patch and seeing it is already done, IN ANOTHER GAME.

Yey £35 for an expansion pack!

Might have missed it but what sort of anti-cheat will this be using, if it's anything like dmw then it will be an auto-flop competitively.

Hoping for;

* No silly killcams,
* Good maps, maybe a few remakes from AA,* Health regen - no no, health packs from the dead - yes yes
* Dedicated servers,
* Good anticheat (is there such a thing?)
* keep the ffa/tdm/obj game modes

Really would love to see Destroyed Village, V2, Hunt or Algiers in this game as MP maps. That would make my day, I loved MOHAA.

Some more info on the game:

Rendered at 30fps on console (not sure how this relates on pc)

Unreal engine 3 for sp, frostbite 1.7.x for multi.

Sp

•The single player has local destruction but not full destruction. Hang around cover too long and you’ll find out how local the destruction can be but you won’t be mowing down everything and anything you see. It was a natural feel and balance.
•The hit box isn’t one big block, you can shoot through an enemy’s legs and miss or under an extended arm
•Bullet mass is impressive, you can measure your shot groupings by watching the enemy AI take hits and move accordingly where they limp away, fall and continue to shoot or simply take a round in the shoulder and get pushed around taking their own shots off target.
•Bullet mass is also evident in the rounds striking the ground, buildings or cover and kicking up debris and dust
•I asked the question, does the suns position impact the AI accuracy and enemy detection and was pleasantly answered ‘yes it does’. This means tactical players can work to keep the sun at their back to improve odds of success in mission. When I asked this question I was also told that while bright light will impair detection and accuracy, dark does as well. AI in a dark room startled by fire will ‘blind fire’ in fear
•Get ammo from a friend system allows you to see who has ammo in your squad and you can go get it from them during the mission but of course it’s not ‘infinity ammo’ so you’ll have to borrow wisely

•The enemy is CLEARLY named as Al Qaeda & Taliban insurgents both Afghan fighters and Chechen fighters.
•The development team went so far as to have all three enemy factions speaking the proper and native tongue. Al Qaeda speaks Gulf Arabic, Taliban speaks Pashto and Chechen insurgents speak Chechen

Multi

•Score Chains – Points build as you hit objectives or take down enemies and work as a team, the longer you stay alive the more these points build. As you build up these points i unlocks support actions (see you thought support was gone without the player class!). When you get a support action, you can choose between an OFFENSIVE or DEFENSIVE option for example, mortar strike or the UAV to locate enemies (and even a SCUD missile!)
•Ranking System
•You start as a Ranger and as you enhance and rank up you get selected for Tier 1 (you get your beard!) which is the level indication vs. a ‘military rank’ structure like that of BFBC2.
•Players unlock weapons and even new player skins for ‘operator’ custom look.
•Demotion in skill value points for ‘bad’ actions
•Support class has been removed to favor a more ‘tactical’ decision model. In the world of Tier 1, the groups are all tactical vs. having a dedicated support individual.
•Health will regenerate over time or will get awarded during game play
•Mods (load out choices) will persist between matches for classes and teams (and can be setup outside of the live game mode so you can take your time and consider)
•Teams are ‘Coalition vs. Insurgents’
•Friend System just like BFBC2 to invite, track and join your buddies
•Specific weapon unlocks per side so that insurgents will get weapon unlocks specific to enemy and vice versa for Coalition forces
•Interior splash damage increases (grenade explosive damage worse in enclosed spaces)
•No gibbing – Kill model is ragdoll body effect not body parts
•Leaderboard and Stats – Both inside the game itself and outside sources for external game use
•In game achievements are separate from single player
•Hardcore mode will be available
•The team you’re on (Coalition or Insurgent) determines which weapons you can select from
•Modified Frostbite engine limits destruction vs BFBC2 (more accurate depiction of damage)
•Snipers can steady a shot by holding breath
•UAVs are ‘predator’ variant
•No magic parachutes! If you jump from a building better be ready to pay that price
•Spawn decision allows you to choose from front line or rear area (if you need to regroup rather than jump into the firefight immediately)
Platform Specific Elements:

•PC: No Mod Tools (at least none planned at this point and foreseeable future)
•PC: Game server rental only. No private dedicated server which means no release of server code to community
•PC: While there is dedicated servers the EA Master Server will not be shared between BFBC2 and Medal of Honor
•PC: In game voice but it is for entire team only and not squad level
•XBL: Party chat functions will be available for private group voice functionality (take your party in game)
•PC: Server filters will be better than BFBC2 and MORE options
•PC: Spectator mode will take a ‘player’ slot from the max of 24
•PC: Punkbuster will be used
•PC: RCON tools will be available

Seems very BC2 like with this server caper.

It's the 17th, but I guess the websites and such will be updated in PST time, so the beta should be starting in a few hours time?

I'm quite glad i read that list, its the last reason i needed to not get it. It couldn't be anymore a merger of BC2 and CoDMW2 if it tried.

Actually the game seems to contain a lot of features BC2 should've had and a lot of features it shouldn't touch with a 10ft pole. Magic parachute? Oh the lols, was it too hard to put that into BC2? Even better than a lot of features are listed as 'better than BC2'...
