****OFFICAL MOH 2010 (Medal of Honor) THREAD****

I have played through a bit of the SP campaign now (halfway I guess) and despite it being widely reported that it was very easy, I am stuck on one part :/

In Belly of the Beast, the bit where your squad is under siege in a small hut. The enemy are all around you (well on three sides) and fire rockets at the hut so there is eventually little to no cover left. There are loads of enemies and no matter how many times I try this section, I end up getting killed from an unseen enemy because there is no cover. The aim is to hold out until help arrives but it doesn't arrive quick enough.

I get to the bit where a squad member says FALL BACK and I'm like wtf, fall back where?? If we leave the tiny bit of cover that is left, I die within seconds as I've already tried that before.

REALLY FRUSTRATING TBH  I even confess that I restarted the whole chapter on EASY difficulty just to get through this part, and even on 'easy' it bloody isn't!

You need to hold out for a couple of seconds longer, keeping an eye out to the left and right of the rear of the hut. Took me a few times to get it. Don't stray too far from the rear of the hut, i.e. down the dip at the back!

Tried it again, I hear 'get to cover' then I get hit and 'Adams is hit' game over :/ Maybe I will need to watch a video to see someone else do it, so I know exactly where to go or something. I am surprised this bit got through playtesting as it's completely unbalanced IMO.

edit - tried it one more time and did it. Sheesh.

I think i saw people talking about adjusting some mouse settings to get it more responsive, how do i do that? the movement does seem to drag behind a bit.

I've just finished downloading the game via EADM, the instructions on how to perform a backup are a little sparse, what exactly am i supposed to backup? The contents of C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM or something else? Any help would be appreciated as I can't see anything remotely similar in size to the 13.1GB I downloaded in anywhere other than the program files folder.

Yes that. It includes the installer files.

Folder size is 349KB and I had it set to keep the installers after install but according to some of the threads on the EA site I aren't the only person with this issue :/

Good old EA.

Hmm, obviously it should be more like 13 gigs in size shouldn't it. I can only suggest downloading it again and this time back it up before you install it. (If you do this, be sure to revoke one activation first from the start menu or you'll lose one.)

Backing it up shouldn't be necessary though because AFAIK EA will let you download unlimited times nowadays.

Interestingly it says on the receipt 30 days and I've seen discussions of 1 to 5 years on varying boards. I'l redownload it in January so as not to upset the ISP too much anyway, thanks for the help.

It runs well for me, haven't checked the exact fps but I'd guess around 60. What are your specs? Bear in mind the single player and multiplayer are different games altogether, they use different graphics engines so the former running well doesn't imply that the latter necessarily will.

averages about 45fps ,pretty sure its a cpu bottleneck as task manager shows about 90% cpu usage on mp. i have tried dx 9-10-11 1024 low settings / 1920 high and it doesnt seem to make a differance.

cheers mike

It's not too bad in between black ops. Prefer to BC2 in some ways

Only problem was CTD randomly inbetween maps, did some googling and if think it is 400 series cards and dx11?

I have similar PC to you, running it maxed out 1920x1200 16x aa 16x af, 80fov getting between 60-90fps... feels much smoother than BLOPS.

Have to say im getting great framerates in MP running all maxed out, 4aa, v sync with shadows on medium, single player i have to drop a few more things slightly as in big open spaces the framerate was dropping into the 20's quite often, think my cpu, as in the narrow streets and buildings it was a solid 40-60.

Just wondering if anyone is experiencing slow downs. Every 5 - 10 minutes everything goes into slow motion, even the menu goes slow. I checked my temps and my cpu was reaching 75 - 92 oC in core temp and after being in windows for a few minutes the game would then be ok for a bit. Would a hot cpu cause these kind of slowdowns?
cheers

I haven't experienced that. Could it be your CPU is getting so hot that thermal throttling is kicking in.

Not sure of the best way. You could run say Prime95 stress test while keeping open CPU-Z or coretemp to display the CPU clock speed and temps. It will make your CPU get very hot but in theory it shouldn't throttle because your particular machine should have been designed to be used to the max. So if it does throttle, there's a problem.

Sorry I'm no expert but if you ask in the CPU forum you'd probably get an informed answer.
