*****Official 2013 BBQ Thread- it's sizzlin'!!!!*****

I've got a Weber Spirit Gas barbecue and recently i've been using my old trusty Weber charcoal kettle barbecue.

The food tastes sooo much better on the charcoal, all the smokeyness from the coals soaks into the food. So i prefer charcoal. The gas can be convenient sometimes, but charcoal isnt far behind when you use a weber chimney starter and decent coal.

Last weeks, I don't think I'll be able to get one in this weekend :(

Also toasted some marshmallows afterwards, which are quite possibly the sickliest thing I have ever tasted! My daughter loved 'em though :)

Worst BBQ location, ever.

BBQ Weather...

So, at the moment, we have BBQ Weather.

I am thinking of having a BBQ with some mates tomorrow but we are stuck as to where to have it, none of us have a very big garden so not sure what we will do...ideas?

Second, me and the boss at work have come up with a great idea of having a works BBQ out on the loading bay one Sunday afternoon, in the middle of town, would this be a good idea?

You run the risk of being the subject of a GD thread taking the Micky out of people BBQing in a carpark.

:D

But yeah clear it with management.

Hope the H&S bods have cleared it...

Which Sunday and where btw? I'll avoid the area 'cos of the rain.... :p

Can imagine you'll need to get a risk assessment done first, so first point of contact would be your Health & Safety officer.

We don't have a Health & Safety officer...also the BBQ would be after 4pm when the shop closes...

So ask you boss to be one and to do a risk assessment before he gives you lot the go ahead. In that way you will be covered if it goes pear-shaped.

You can bbq anywhere. I've bbq all over the place. In the street, in a park, on the beach, even bbq on top of a mountain once, on a boat, i am sure ill think of more.

Only thing that will realy get complaints is the smoke, so if any open windows near by go over and let them know you having a bbq and warn them to close the windows. Not even much of a fire risk as the ground is not very dry here anyway.
