**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

yeah i ran prime 95 for about half a second before errors so going to run @ stock for a bit. Will try overclocking again later :) I'll check through the thread when i have time for some recommended voltages as my hardware is pretty much up to 400x9 it just needs some tweaking...

Just bought an IP35 Pro XE, brilliant board, but does anyone know what Realtek GIG Lan chipset is on the board? Is it the same 8110SC as the vanilla boards? - just that the drivers from Abit's site are dodge as hell under XP64 - setup doesn't install the ethernet ports, requiring manual installation of drivers, and they seem to knock out my USB Root Host's (perhaps it was just a coincidence that uninstalling the lan drivers resolved the issue).

Tar all!

hello.. does anyone know if the external GuruClock display unit thingy from the Abit AA8 duramax/3rd eye boards will connect and work with the IP35pro/xe ???? cheers

that's the GC-02?
yes, the hardware feed to the display will work but some of the software that was used for email alerts etc. won't (it was designed for the 2nd gen uGuru chip & the Ip35 Pro uses the 3rd generation).

Yup, I use one from the AA8-3rd Eye on the Ip35-Pro. All the functions apart from the email/im stuff works (never use them anyhow...). You can change profiles and monitor freq, temps, fan speed, voltages etc. I always find the uGuru software a little buggy though. It doesn't always download the settings to the guru clock.

It's great for just monitoring temperatures and fan speeds though.

One thing you need to be aware of; before Bios17 if you resume from S3 suspend mode the cpu temperature reports 0C... not good if you're controlling your cpu fan from this reading

Just a heads up peeps.

BIOS 17 ( the latest ) doesn't support usb keyboards when you hit the " Del " button to enter the bios, you have to plug in an old PS/2 type..

I'm going to revert back to an older BIOS as the new one reports my cpu voltage ( E8400 ) as 1.080 in CPU-Z yet it was bang on the mark with bios 16.

Sorry If I caused any offence earlier in the thread :o

even with USB support set to "by BIOS"?

that's a CPU-Z problem though.

My reading is that:
a) it only happens when RAID is enabled
b) it still works but is just very sensitive to timing of the keypress

I have raid enabled, and I couldn't get it into the bios even if I hammered at my del key like a looney :p

Obviously A, cancels out B :)

Just a quicky BUFF, I've tryed searching through the thread but to no avail.. what does this CPU VTT do ? and what should be its max setting ? Thanks :)

well, I've read that some people are still able to get into it even on 17 with RAID enabled ...

As I don't run RAID (or indeed BIOS17) it's not a problem that I have 1st hand experience of.
do you have USB support "by BIOS?"

it's the CPU fsb termination voltage - higher voltage may allow for higher CPU fsb. You shouldn't have to go daft with it on an IP35 Pro though.

Thanks for the reply :)

I'm pretty sure I had USB support set to OS, I might revert back to Bios 17 tonight just for a test :)

The CPU VTT is rather weird in my bios, and I can only assume its because the bios detects my 45nm CPU (E8400) in the book and in the screen photo's I've seen CPU VTT is set to 1.2 Default voltage...

Wheras in my bios its set to 1.10 and only allows for two other changes ( 1.13 and 1.17 ) any ideas ?

I know my P5Q Deluxe lowers the default VTT to 1.10v if it detects a 45nm CPU.

As for the lack of VTT options, the board has always been wierd that way. Upping the NB voltage usually unlocks more VTT settings, tho you may have to save and exit the BIOS after upping the NB voltage before being offered the higher VTT options.
