**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

separate topic - i just managed to get a stable 400x9 overclock on my q6600 - i'm using default BIOS from last year as i dont like flashing anything so i needed 1.52v on the cpu core (1.43-1.47 measured by uguru in windows) - every other volt is pretty much at stock. The pwm temps got a bit high under 4 cores 100% load after 5-10 mins so i set case fan speeds to be controlled by this temp not cpu temp as my cpu never goes over 60. No rounding errors on prime 95.

The pwm is the power regulator on the motherboard so pushing all those extra volts through was making it so hot due to the vdroop between bios setting and actual cpu reading. By putting all other voltages back to default this seemed to reduce its load so my advice when clocking the q6600 is to just increase the vcore until you get a stable over clock and use the uguru program to monitor actual voltages in windows.

Yep did it in windows, it hung half way through. I ordered a new bios chip, but last night a techy pal of mine did me a bootable floppy so that the bootblock could pull itself together...thankfully it did and im on the roll again! The nic still wont stay powered up though when sleeping, im gonna try an old nic card in a pci slot next see if i can get that to stay powered up.

Nice one. Tho you can bet that the floppy recovery method wouldn't have worked if the board didn't have a replaceable BIOS chip :D

Still having problems with wol. Fitted a new nic card, still powers down when sleeping! Arrgghh!!! Tried all the bios settings, nic card properties, i'm getting no where! Any sugestions?

hi can i ask where is the intel sata controller raid drivers which is the latest and where i can get it from and the jmicron driver link is broken.
please tell me where to get the latest raid drivers for the board as im installing vista 64 and they reconise the drivers as unassigned drivers and need to restartand install with 32bit drivers to continue installation but it doesnt work and cannot get them to be installed when i load drivers for installtion.

Hi, i've just purchaced the regular abit IP35, i'm just wondering what the differences between the pro version and the regular version are. I'm sure it has been stated somewhere else in the thread but i really don't have time to search through it all.

do you have the time to check on abit's website?

basically it's uguru, richer BIOS, 2nd physical x16 PCI-E slot, 2nd Gigabit LAN,
external clearCMOS switch, 100% solid caps rather than only the most important, different chipset cooling & probably some more that escapes me atm.

i'm guessing that most of that stuff is only required for real enthusiasts?

Most of it is in the "nice to have" category rather than required.
the standard IP35 is a great vfm mobo, the Pro just adds cherries on top :)

Argh. This MoBo is driving me mad.

I've just decided to lose Vista, going back to XP. Backed my stuff up and all that, and formatted the drive in another PC.

Now with the drive hooked back up to the PC, the motherboard's gone nuts. It won't even boot half the time.

It hangs on POST code C1, C3 and 03, occasionally 25.

When I clear the CMOS, it'll boot, but not from the CD because the CMOS has been cleared and it's not listed as a boot device... but if I go and change it in the BIOS, well, after saving it, it restarts and bam! POST code C1, C3 or 03, and it won't boot up properly.

Getting a bit sick of that bloody monster truck ¬_¬
Any ideas anyone?

Right, fiddled with the RAM but now it seems to have an aversion to reading from my XP CD, or even acknowledging that there's something in the drive.

I'm gonna take it apart, leave the MoBo, unplugged and unconnected to anything, on a CMOS clear overnight, and then have another go tomorrow.

Sometimes I really do hate computers :(
