*** Official AMD 7990 Owners Thread ***

Is it worth me going from a single 680 to a 7990? Was going to go sli, but I'm undecided whether that's the best route to go down considering the vram limit.

Well you would get over twice the performance you're currently getting.

Another 680 or a 7990 though?

If I go 7990 I have more vram but the headache of selling my current card.

If I go an extra 680, it's a quick fix to double performance where scaling is good, but I'm limited on the vram side of things for future titles.

And then there's the 9xxx series I suppose...

:o

Ok...so I'm benching at Stock tonight vs an OC'd SLi GTX 760 will post some results up...first some pics in the case ;)

How loud are the fans as some say they are loud ?

Not too loud at all mate, I'm finding them quieter than my GTX 760's SLi'd as they tended to ramp up as they were blowing hot air onto each other.

If anything a slightly audible hum on full load but nowhere near anything I would consider 'loud'. :)

Good stuff jrodga. Make sure you use the 13.8 beta drivers and disable ULPS with msi afterburner or Trixx.

Had a look at that thread a few weeks back and was struggling to find it again...least it's easy to disable it in Afterburner.

Gained 5fps from 63 to 68 in Crysis 3...still slower than the GTX 760's on stock however.

Certainly seems to be faster or slower or on par on a game by game basis.
