Im looking for a new squad based multiplayer game as BF2 is getting long in the tooth , as a BF2 veteran ( 2400 plus hours ) will I enjoy this ?

I get playable framrates now I've gone down to a single GPU, by playable I mean 25-35fps - though it has a tendancy to drop to 16 ish when looking at bushes/trees, but then I havn't lowered the settings since going from my SLi setup.
To be honest regarding BF2 and liking this, I can only suggest getting Project Reality mod for BF2, and if you like that, then there's a high chance you'll like this. It does seem very good but a lot slower than BF2.

why are you running your Q6600 so low clocks DennisK ?
the rest of your specs are high end yet the Q6600 is running at 2.8 gig ?
most should do 3.2 gig easily ? this game is both GPU and CPU taxing ...

how can i check frame rates without fraps in game?
That makes two of us. Most of the time I do not even see the bugger who shot me.Christ I'm crap at this game
It's going to be a while before I can show my face on multiplayer. Good to see the next patch is out.
What fillrate setting are you using as this makes a big difference. I see you got a big old LCD so I would drop the res and just live with the black bars.
My frame rate has been fairly good during missions - 35 to 47. I am playing at 1680 x 1050 - fillrate 100% and everthing else on high. I think flying will be another story all together.
As someone has said increase the clock on your cpu.
People have to put their performance expectations into perspective in that this game looks better than most even at normal settings. The draw distances are huge. The way I look at it is that I have something to look forward to when I next upgrade.

Ahh stuff it, thats one shiney new 285GTX ordered I just hope I see some difference from my 8800GTX. Just need to figure out how to overlock this Q6600 now, either that or I look for a CPU upgrade as well

post your mobo - currrent settings etc on a new thread in overclocking forum and I'm sure a load of people will help you - including myself

man this game is rocking and i anit even got passed training lol,whats the best settings for my setup/gfx card ect i always seem to never get them right,at minute all settings are on very high and is smooth as a babys bum,allso how do i find out about fps love to know what im kicking out cheers
You can use FRAPS to see your fps and it's also the easiest way to take screenshots

Hmm A lot of servers are now having problems with cheaters / hackers
The server whos config's are not properly set-up are having the worse time
Some tips from a vet:
#userlist <- type this into chat to get the player connection ID ( use page up / down to move through list)
#vote kick "userID" <- type this into chat to vote to kick a noob tker

#vote kick "name" <- where name is the display name of the waynker

Overclock it first before buying. I am no expert so if I can do it, anyone can. I managed to overclock my CPU from 3000 to 4000 on the first try. Just search for a good guide or find someone who has the same specs as you and copy their settings - that's what I did.Ahh stuff it, thats one shiney new 285GTX ordered

There will be coming new cards out soon. Wait a little longer and you may get something much faster. Personally I can't wait to see what the next gen of cards can do with Arma 2. Ah, to play at 2560*1600 with 200 % fillrate !!
About the overclocking: thanks, I will head to the overclocking forum one of these days when I find the time (and the will to tear myself away from ArmA 2).
