Carmaggedon is an absolute classic of a game.
I used to play it all the time. Im not into racing games much these days, but back when Carma 1 and 2 were out, I was hooked

I've used my lunch break to set it all up, going to try to get a microphone sorted out so that I can chat whilst I'm playing it, and I'll be keeping an eye on the chat and trying to answer any questions people have!
I may experiment with some of the video settings by editing the config.lua file whilst I'm on stream.

Lolol just noticed n confused's screen grab that the severed hand pointer is still there....loving it!
Just finished a ~4 hour streaming session, and here are my thoughts:
PC specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570k @ 4.2GHz
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD65
RAM: 8GB GeIL Black Dragon DDR3
Graphics: VTX3D Radeon 7950 3GB
Disk: Samsung 830 SSD 256GB
Sound: Asus Xonar D2X
Mouse: Logitech MX Revolution
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Software: Open Broadcaster Software (capturing in x264 at 1920x1080 30fps 3000kbps)
- Feels just like a Carmageddon game
- Held my attention for the full 4 hours
- The default keys suck! Why is recover not "Insert" like it always was!?
- Couldn't appear to rebind the keys, so I couldn't correct the above myself
- Whilst streaming, I had the following open: Chrome, Open Broadcaster Software, Steam, Carmageddon - ran quite nicely, high frame rate, at 100% CPU usage. Until I repaired. Then, the CPU usage dropped to ~50-70%, and the framerate tanked
- I had a couple of crashes. Once just in the middle of a race, and once when I went to view the replays
- The post-race gallery disappeared after a couple of races
- Getting wasted didn't end the race... it just allowed me to repair and continue
- Cops home in on you SO much
- Opponents ignore you and just race around the course most of the time

Actually it was very good all round, obviously not serious gameplay but great handling Ive always thought. Pretty sure I completed the first game
