What is with everyone using traction control! Sissy's! F1 cars don't have traction control!
Best i can manage at the mo is 1.36 something with no assists. Not posting a picture yet as i don't think anyone is not going to believe me on that one!
Or ABS. F1 hasn't had ABS since the early 90's. Traction control was dropped after the 2007 season, 4 years ago. Before Codemasters even got the license.
Do F1 drivers drive around with a green and red braking line either? I find it even more amusing that experienced game racers here know all the tracks and they still need the virtual racing line. Then some wheel users still need traction control.
It's one thing learning a track but too many of the experienced gamers still rely on these gimmicks.
What good is a time trial trial thread when there isn't even a level playing field. People playing with whatever they see fit. The exact same reason why the FIA took all the electronic gizmos out so drivers drive under their own skill. You are doing the driving, not the car or game helping you achieve a fast time.
It's the exact same reason why Ferrari Virtual Academy does this so well. You can practice and practice until your heart is content with ABS, TCS, racing line, to learn the track(s) but as soon as you enter time trial, the game forces this all off for a level playing field. It cannot be enabled for time trial.
How can things be fair if anyone does whatever. Strap on some nitros/rocket boosters and call that Dick Dastardly fair.
It's that same reason I've just not been taking part in online races. TCS/ABS has been set to optional, same goes for other camera angles. It's not a level playing field. Plus the suspension cheat.
The only way to prove people never used the suspension cheat is to show a video of the lap, then go straight to the menus/garage and show the setup. Otherwise it's hearsay.
It's not about being bitter it's just far too many gamers find out an exploit and I'll guarantee it, they'll abuse it then deny it with a slagging match. Game forums have been rife with it.
It's better to be beaten by someone with better driving skills, or a better car setup, or both, than being beaten by someone using driver aids of any form or a bigger field of view such as T-cam. If anything goes... well, you know what the outcome will be.
