How do you set up supply lines?

Also, I can't seem to fathom a better way to see what/who is assigned to which resources:

Yes if the NPCs are actually farming the food you can hover over them and it highlights which crops they are assigned to, but if they walk off to another area of the settlement (Which they seem to do A LOT), then you can't tell. Anyway to get this info?

My Sanctuary seems to be bugged too; I have enough water, defence, beds and so forth and happiness will climb when I am there. But as soon as I fast travel away and check the settlement in my PipBoy, it tells me I have less settlers and not enough resource? Wtf?

easiest way is to build a bell that summons them then they are all in one place

supply lines are set in build mode..you just wander up to a person and press R1 it will then open a list of other settlements and you chose which one to send them to, then confirm it

it doesnt share everything though, as far as I can tell its only really building materials for the base, any guns, armour and junk used for modding are not shared

so gears, wood and steel are shared..but screws and adhesive , for example, are not

I think the problem with the building is it takes some getting used to the UI. I tend to start with a small self contained unit and then build out from it when the materials become available. My Hanger at Sanctuary is next to the workshop building and my goal is to connect them.

At the start I was trying to go too big. For example, i walled off the whole of sanctuary, but you just cant defend an area that big. If you are there when you are attacked it is fine. The time i wasn't, it took loads of mats to repair everything, although i didnt notice anything was stolen.

I did try and build a skyscraper but you can only go up 5 floors. That used a lot of my mats up :)

Speaking of Mats, the fast travel "Mat" you find under Miscellaneous is very useful, in case anyone wants to Fast Travel to a specific area. e.g. I have the mat in the Garage in Sanctuary, rather than having to walk deeper in from the bridge every time I FT.

I am sure if yiou fast travel to sanctuary is spawns you right in front of the workbench?

If it's your kind of game, then yeah it's probably a must buy. Just have a look at some streams, youtube videos etc and work out if you'd like it or not. Story wise it follows in the same style as the other Fallouts but neither of them link or carry on from each other story wise so you'll be fine.

Bad by public? Everyone i know that has bought it loves it, bar maybe one person. Even talking to them their friends love it and son on, it's not perfect but it's bloody amazingly good.

Never played a fallout before, is this worth getting yay or nay? Reviews are pretty bad by public but good from the critics can't make my mind up.

Not sure which public is slating it, it's not flawless but it's pretty darn close for me.

Have you ever played any Elder Scrolls game? It's similar is formula but set in a post apocalyptic setting.

Does she? That's interesting. My wife loves watching me play Tomb Raider/Uncharted etc so I was unsure about whether she would be into this> I'm getting it anyway but it'll be nice if she can get something out of it too.

Aye, i was a bit shocked too. :p she enjoys the looting/scavenging part of the game. infiltrating raider dens and the like. :D

How far are you? Possible early game story spoiler below regarding a legendary weapon.

you get given an amazing legendary laser rifle from Danse, the brotherhood of steel knight. (Fairly early in the game) I've modded it to a sniper rifle and it does something like 82 damage a hit. It's pretty damn powerful. One shots all ghouls and raiders(torso), and two shots super mutants (torso shots, not headshots)

Combat shotgun and combat rifle are also both really decent too. And well worth upgrading. The combat shotgun is so OP

:D

Something pretty awesome happened to me tonight.

Was heading through the city when something streaked across the sky. I barely saw it before it was gone, but my companion mentioned it had crashed and we should go look for it. Anyway I headed in the direction it had gone and after a bit of searching, I stumbled upon a crashed alien ship, like the one in Fallout 3. I followed a trail of green blood to a cave and found the pilot, who immediately tried to kill me. He went down easy. And on his body was the Alien Blaster and several hundred rounds of ammo. It is a very powerful gun! Ammo will be a problem for it though, at least until I can get the mod to change its ammo type to fusion rounds. I'll save it for tough to kill enemies to conserve the alien rounds
