***Official Final Fantasy XIV Thead***

McGray I had a slightly different kill one. Had to pursue some dude to kill him, you get ambushed and all that then had to fight them off. Still a kill quest but was a nice twist. Like most games I ecpect the standard quests ti be go kill ones with the main line fleshing everthing out (main one has been great so far)

I did read the post on the other page and concluded that you wrote tripe, so I ignored you and it, and declined to respond.

Writing things like "You should have researched it to know what to expect..." bla blah blah means you are assuming that I didn't do what you mentioned, I find THAT weird.

You could have researched this till the cows came home, yes BETA was generally a disaster, but we were told most of the problems would be solved for release(I mean they had to be, you couldn't release a game that was almost unplayable). Some if not most of the opinions pre-release were positive.

This game should still be in BETA, I have no doubt at all about that.

I think you may have gotten me confused with another poster, i've not mentioned anything regarding researching into the game beforehand? :/

As it were i just got the CE because i wanted a new game and it was cheap from Amazon at the time.. and that flask thing is ace at keeping your beer cans cold :D

Im guessing you probably read the wrong post im talking about as well which just conveys my opinion of the game so far..

Please, please, can one of you 'just because its not WoW!' fanboys explain to me how the absence of implemented content constitutes 'the opposite end of their respective genres'

That would be like saying WoW is a Ford Focus and FFXIV Online was a Ferrari Enzo.... without any wheels, or engine, or anything else. Infact, its pretty much just the chassis.

I don't like the game so I must convince everyone I am right, there's always a few but there you go.

First it started with I have played the game so agree with me

secondly the review agrees with me so you must too

then random survey linking (that was truly special :p)

then we had arguing for arguements sake

now we have hit rock bottom and because we who like the game STILL wont agree with your hatred and rage the "fanboy" arguement is unleashed.

or of course you could just move on (as I suggested earlier) and accept sone people actually like the game.

But keep going bunny, I'm really wondering if your arguements can get any more shallow.

What is your input in the thread apart from talking nonsense?

All I've heard is, "oh I'm level 15" etc.

I'm not taking part in this thread for personal gain, I happen to think it is the right thing to do, warning people about a game which by the vast amount of peoples opinions is utter crap.

You go on your merry way and kill a mole or two for me, meanwhile others can read a thread that is useful until the likes of you say "oh I've hit 15, the main story is great"

Right there you have stated what you think, not what others think(which you accuse the people who don't like this game of doing).

What is the difference between you saying the opposite of what I say? Does the title of this thread mean it should just contain posts by people who actually enjoy playing this crap?

I will leave this thread with a warning to those thinking of buying this game.

Read the gamespot.co.uk review, it is just about spot on, this is backed up by a rival site called IGN.com which is also just about spot on.

People in this thread, like the poster I am responding to, are determined to play this game, no matter how bad it is, and it is bad, do you research and forget this thread if it continues to be a one sided fan boy frenzy.

Well im loving and hating this game. I just want to get into it but i have no clue what im meant to do still feels like im in tutorial quests as im still being introduced to galdiators and mineers guild etc.
Well i made an armouer thinking it would keep my pockets full of gil and also i could make myself the nicest armour to run around in with a nice big axe. Apart from all i get is THROW ROCK i cant even use my smith hammer oww come on.

So can i use a weapon or something other than throw rock? As i would like to train some combat skills as well sort of ninja merchant.:-)

Any help at hetting into this game would be good.

Oh also on tribia or something like that

not really, im just saying i don't know how they can be compared when their two different type of MMO's.. i have no preference to either, i like both and play both :)

not quite sure what your getting at, im not really a fanboy of either game, although i do think Blizzards games are extreamly well made and polished, esp. compared to others! huge SCII Fanboy though ^^

you can play multiple classes. You just have to equip the weapon of said class then you can play that class. So let's say you want try playing marauder as well as you're armourer so you can kick some bottom just go buy an axe from the vendor equip it and go. Then when you want to go back to armouring just wack your armour tools in equip. You'll get nowhere doing battle leves as a crafter.

I'm also on trabia though I play only when I'm home from work. If you need help in game or someone to do leves with add me. Called Jewri Spinger
 
found something wierd..

I brought some Flint Arrows from the vendor instead of the Warped Arrows, jsut because i had spare cash and wanted to see the difference... HOWEVER! it won't let me equip the arrows using the refill command.. anybody know what the problem could be?
 
Well it was a tough decision but I've cancelled my account. Partly due to the fact that I don't have the time for an mmo right now. Hopefully will be back in a few months when work calms down.
 
Well a big thumbs up to SE! They have just given every one an extra 30 days free play time so if you buy FFXIV and set up an account before the 25th October you will get 60 days free :D

Yep, just saw this too. Good on 'em. And the new market ward changes should hopefully make things a little easier in selling/buying.

Massive boost getting another 30 days free. :D

however after how SE have performed so far I'm not surprised. They have been fantastic in regards to how they have responded so far to customer concerns/criticisms about game performance.

Everyone knows they have had issues with the game but so encouraged by SE's response. I'm not deluding myself that this patch will solve everything but give it a couple of month and I doubt the bugs that we have will be left. :)

any idea when we gill a little more specific info on the updates that arecoming our way?

So annoyed that I got home to mine and the lasses new house and the net hasn't came on yet, something to do with phone line problems so hoping to have BT out tommorow so I can get some levelling done!!! :D
